Hey everyone, I've got some questions about WDP product and I think that this forum is the best place to ask them.

1. What are the bigs differences between different angel platform and what is the best one considering the marker performance? (note that i'm playing on every kind of ground, MIL-SIM, Scenario, Speedball, ...)

2. Why is everyone want to trade their Angel against Ego 06/07? Is Ego really better than Angel?

3. Are the Angel enough strong to play on MIL-SIM and Scenario ground? I means, will they resist to ground impact, to water splash, dust, ...?

I know that the answers will be probably different from each person but in general, they should be similar. Thank for helping me to see clearly!! :)

Angel 1 is the best platform currently. (for all types of paintball)

2. Why is everyone want to trade their Angel against Ego 06/07? Is Ego really better than Angel?

Personal preference.

3. Are the Angel enough strong to play on MIL-SIM and Scenario ground? I means, will they resist to ground impact, to water splash, dust, ...?

Yes, many scenario teams are sponsored by WDP.

I know that the answers will be probably different from each person but in general, they should be similar. Thank for helping me to see clearly!! :)

Hope that helps.

A1 will allow you to shoot very brittle paint. Other Angels will but with far more difficulty It is the smallest and lightest gun WDP makes. Don't get me wrong Speed, A4 Fly and the G7 platform are by no means cheap guns. They hold their own just fine.

2. Why is everyone want to trade their Angel against Ego 06/07? Is Ego really better than Angel?

Because they have more money than they know what to do with!

3. Are the Angel enough strong to play on MIL-SIM and Scenario ground? I means, will they resist to ground impact, to water splash, dust, ...?

Oh ya! I do it all the time. Regular maintaining is all they need to keep running. Just oil ASA and grease every 10 cases or so.

I know that the answers will be probably different from each person but in general, they should be similar. Thank for helping me to see clearly!! :)

No problem and welcome to AOG mate.

First off I wouldn't trade my A1 for any marker out there, SL66, 07 EGO, etc. I've used many "high end" markers and my A1 still remains my preference.
Second the field I play at has both scenario and speedball and the A1 owns on either...unless you plan on diggin your way from bunker to bunker, then you might want to get a tippy or something.

The A1 is the newest model. I have owned several previous Angels and loved them, but was not pleased with the A1. It was inconsistant, broke paint like crazy, and the quality (eye covers for example) sucked. I recently purchased an 07 Ego and I must say I am in love - by far the best marker I've ever shot. If you must have an Angel, I suggest the g7 fly. Great marker, just a little bulky. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply, that's what i wanted to hear. I made my decision, i'll buy an A1. Thanks again! I'll probably post a thread in the WTB section.

Of course that is what you are going to hear. You came to an A1 forum and asked what people thought of their markers. That is like driving onto the lot of a Ford dealership and asking them if their cars are good. No one hear is going to give you unbiased info on A1s because they own them. If that is what you want, just ask around at the local shop or field. I only say this because I know several people, myself included, who have owned and promptly sold these guns due to poor performance and quality issues. If you do get one, good luck.

Thanks for the info, that's not false. So, what marker should I buy? What do you use? Help please!! :)

Why dont you go to your local store or field and ask to try some guns, then decide what you want to shoot for yourself rather than asking other people what you should shoot. Take any advice that the store owner tells you with a pinch of salt as he will have an interest to sell you one gun over an other as he may have more margin in that gun than any other. You are the guy who has to play with the gun no one else so you need to make up your own mind. If you are from the Boston area and you are at the NPPL you can have a try of my A1 if you like.
After testing all the guns I am confident of 2 things, you will have chosen the gun that is right for you, and it will be an A 1.

i realy sorry for the people that buy the first generation of A1 and sell it before the generation 2 parts was available. The A1 with generation 2 parts, is the best marker i have ever shoot. feel, balance and performance. The ego 07 is a very good marker, but i keep the A1.

Bad idea, the store just want to sell, they are not all always honest, and where I live, I can't find any field where I can try an Angel.

If you are from the Boston area and you are at the NPPL you can have a try of my A1 if you like.

That would be very well, but I live in Canada. :)

Lol, it is contradictory. You tell me to test all markers but you tell me that I will probably buy an A1. :) I don't want to spend money for testing if I can know what marker is really good; not only good for me, but good for everyone who want to buy a professional marker.

Is this true? Maybe that's why Houck sold his marker.

I am now more confused than ever, please I need help. :)

Buy an SL66, no wait a Mark 7, or maybe a DM 7, nah get an 07 EGO, and on and on. Here's an idea why don't you tell us what your budget is, what types of guns you like or have used in the past. This way we might be able to give you some usable info.
The A1 is one of the best markers on the market for a reason, but just like any marker there are going to be some that love it and can't say enough good things and some that hate it and are more than happy to tell you all about it.
We have told you how we feel about the A1, both positive and negative, so the balls in your court.

Since you live in Canada, I suggest that you look at the manual of the markers that you are interested in and see which would be the easiest to maintain and fix. I prefer a marker that has the KISS principle and suggest that you do the same.

When you start looking at $800+ markers they will shoot roughly the same distance / accuracy and perform well for even someone thinking of entering tourneys.

Remember, paintball products are sold on alot of hype than facts. Take what you read on Pbnation/ Pbreview and here with a grain of salt.

Don't get me wrong, I've always been a WDP fan (member of this forum since 02), but I am also going to play with the best marker I can get my hands on. I tried an A1 and had nothing but problems out of the thing. It broke more paint than my old school IR3. I've seen at least 7 or 8 other people experience the same problems with theirs. All I am saying is that you should play with one and ask around before buying. I prefer the 07 ego and DM7 by leaps and bounds, but that is my opinion.

When I joined my current team (Team ITU back in those days, Terrible Turks now) I was asked what marker I wanted. Now I've been a Timmy fan (Bob Long's Intimidator) ever since I started getting interested in tournament pball, so I took some time and decided that I'd get an Ego (06 was around then) because from what I read I felt it was a better marker and definitely easier to get service for in Europe.

This was before we were sponsored by WDP, but everyone on the team had Angels. In a team that shoots Angel markers, this was kinda unexpected and although my captain and our sponsor company were both respectful of my wish to play with the marker of my choice, they wanted to talk about it with me.

They said that although they would get an Ego for me, they were wondering if I'd consider an Angel to fit in to the team as well as prevent confusion with people watching us play or playing against us. Being a front player, and thus being more in the spotlight, people would wonder why I had an Ego, unlike the rest of the team and that could push them to purchase Ego's.

Now this isn't really a bad thing since our sponsor company sells both markers, but they would really have preferred to concentrate on Angel sales because of their long-standing business relations with WDP. So I decided to take one for the team (or so I thought back then) and ended up with a brand new Angel G7 Fly. This soon got replaced with the A1.

I've shot Shockers and Ego 7's and DM's and ...... just a lot of top-level markers. I've loved the feel of most of them, but in tournament conditions abroad (brittle top quality paint, quick paced tournament i.e. game after game after game) I'd still prefer to have the A1. We were just talking with the guys today at practice about those days when I had asked for the Ego :D

Thanks for helping me. I will try to find a place where I can test an Angel and I'll probably buy one.

Is there any people from Québec/Montréal over here? Maybe that I could test the marker of someone.

There is a simple solution to all your problems on this matter :) I had simular feelings on wether it was Angel or Ego, unable to find a solution to my problem, I bought 2 of each :)
