View Full Version : milling idea (MT's look)

so i was looking at some a4 flys (cause i love the look of them) and i glanced at my 05 speed and noticed the only thing keeping it from looking like a fly is that front hump on the top of the gun. So my question to you guys and the mt's is, would it be possible to mill that front hump off, do some work around the fedneck, and then some of the breech to give it that sweet straight fly look?

im thinking it would look something like this if it is possible to do

mt's do you know if it is possible to do this. wold there be enough metal on the breech?

nah, i dont have anyone to sell my gun to. Also that would require me buying the gun buying a speed trigger frame and another tadao board, so i would just want to mill my current gun.

Theres not enough meat on the 05 speed to mill "anything" off or to do anything significant enough to "mimick" the fly milling...

Like someone already said... want a fly? get a fly...

i think the only part i would run into problems is on the breech. i dont want a fly. just the look cause right now the speeds look like bricks.

im not saying its heavy like a brick because i know its not, my 04 speed was heavier. im just saying the 05 speed LOOKS square and blocky from a distance and i dont like it lol.

Well, we apparently have two TOTALLY different opinions of the 05 speed... but, a couple things i know for certain...

1.) MT's will not mill/modify stock body's for you unless it's to ace, they simply don't have the time or the manpower to do custom jobs like that...

2.)They're gonna tell you the same thing i have... if you want a fly, get a fly, honestly, theres no BLOCKINESS to speak about on the 05 speed, everythings rather rounded and smooth :|

idk might just sell it and get a a1 or g7 fly so i wont have to buy upgrades
