I'm trying to update to 2.2, got the USB cable and everything and saved the software to my computer but when i try to open it, it asks me what i want to open with and i tried microsoft word and a couple other and it comes up in random numbers and signs.

Does anyone know what to do to make it work ?

If I'm not mistaken the software downloads in a .zip compressed folder. Windows XP has a built-in "unzipper" for such files. Also, make sure you are using Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), as the updater will not work properly on SP1.

I dont have XP so i guess it wont work on my computer.

It will only work with Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Have you been able to open the PDF file with the instructions (See attached)?

or where would i download them ?

I stand corrected--I totally forgot about Windows 2000 (sorry!). It does require SP2 for XP, though.

If you're still having trouble unzipping the file you downloaded from WDP, try downloading a program such as EasyZip (http://www.thefreesite.com/ezip35.exe) (a totally free zip and unzip utility). You'll then be able to find the two files the instructions mention.
