View Full Version : Breach Seal Regluing Tips?

So yeah, my breech seal got all goopy and crap and started moving around causing my bolt to stick and have severe chopping every couple balls, so I tried to fix it by taking it off, scraping the goop glue with my fingernail off the angel, and re-gluing it back on with a thin layer of loc-tite super uber glue. It worked for that night, but the next day the same issue came back. I looked at the breech seal and noticed it was lifted up a little bit, and wasn't sitting flush with the breech, so I repeated what I did before, and it works now but I know it's going to lift up soon.

Anyone have some advice on steps to get this back on permanently (what type of glue, where to get it, how to get the old glue off, etc)? The more detailed the better, thanks. -Fizz

The breech seal was retained with what can best be described as a type of double sided tape so when removing the old glue from the breech seal pocket in the body look for what appears to be a thin plastic film as that is the under half of the double sided tape. To remove it just pick it out with a small pick or similar type object. then use a de greaser to clean any old glue residue from the areas that are to be glued. The glue that I would recomend is loc tite 480.

Thanks frazer. Is the thin film on the rubber too? It kinda looks like it, but that just might be the glue from last time, and I don't want to try to take it off and tear the rubber.

The thin film section will 99.99% of the time be left in the cavity on the body.

it needs to be scrapped out with a small flat head screwdriver. works best, plain superglue glues the seal back on well
