View Full Version : A1 + Myth Reg = Massive dropdown
So I just got my Myth reg in today, air the tank up, and head to the chrony. it was awful. shots were going all over the place in this order at 1 bps:
300
250
212
180
112
then by this time if i paused like 1 or 2 secs, you could hear how air was filling the chamber again, a short but pretty obvious hiss, and then it would shoot like previously described again.
Trying to shoot fast resulted in inmediate drop off. no velocity at all.
I switched to a team mates tank, an it worked flawlesly. what does it mean? well, the A1 and the myth have issues.
Now, thing is I already payed for the damn thing and pretty much liked the feel of it, so any techs around could explain why is this happening, and how could i fix it??
thanks

I just sent off 2 brand new Assault Regs for Creeping. When I would put the bottles on a gauge it would go to 450 psi then creep to about 720 psi after about 2 minutes.
I can understand one having a problem, but 2 with identical problems, and brand new at that. I wonder what kind of QC they have at Guerilla.

maybe the pin is deeper in the tank neck cause on my a1 i have to turn the on/off all the way in or it drops off but on my other guns i turn it in a little.
maybe the pin on the a1 asa isnt long enough to fully depress the bottle pin

Hey. If your angel isn't broken, don't fix it:)
The Angel manual has the solution, really simple. You seem to have velocity variations, look under the velocity variations page.
Refer to page 31.

Velocity Variations
Problem
Are unsuitable aftermarket parts used?
Solution
Use genuine Angel parts.

Any Questions?
Ok seriously though...the engineering of the myth regulator doesn't seem to fully take into consideration the needs of the Angel 1. And at that their customer service seems to be poor as crownsk8er mentioned....

The myth is a hybrid spring, its neither high pressure nor low pressure and is just somewhere in the middle. Check its output pressure as guerilla is known for funky output pressures and try throwing an oring in the ASA to see if the pin is being depressed too far amd cutting off air.

Guerilla regs are almost always in need of an airsmith to get the pressure set right. My FukU reg needed a major shim job to get the pressure up to where it should be. Once that is done their flow rates are pretty good. Was it worth the hassle? I suppose if not just for the lighter weight.

dont mean to hijack your thread, but if you take away shims the output pressure increases correct ?
to the thread starter: try your bottle on different guns (including A1s) and observe results

yeah, that's what i should have done in the first place, but having 9 players waiting for me leaves not a lot of room to maneuver.
about the shims, wel no idea, this thing don't use shims.

doctor had a myth reg, after one day, he put it up for sale and he and I both shoot CPs now... I have had crossfires since I was sponsored by them back in the day, and this CP is lighter and recharges better. The myth is around 650-700psi. should be ok with the A1, but very inconsistent as said. I have a 525psi CP, and my JD1 is flawless... I was looking at FuKu reg too, but they need alot of massaging to get them consistent... supposedly great regs, im not impressed.

fair enough, i thought i had read that he had a custom pressured myth but I guess i didnt or that info was inaccurate, thanks!
So there is no confusion, CP is a recent pick up for Joy.

...and a wonderful item it is... I pick up my CP and my crossy and just think to myself how the crossy feels like a 50lb lead weight
We have already had two CP reg issues: One was missing the valve pin and the other had a cut oring causing really bad spiking. Nothing is perfect but CP does offer great support to the player.
well it seems pretty clear that no one like this regs and that every other reg is better.
now, back to where i started.
any one know how to fix this?
