I did a search but didn't see anything that helped me out very much, but anyway... I haven't played in about a year, so my guns been sitting on a stand for that time. I was thinking about going out tomorrow and playing again, so decided to charge my gun a few nights ago. The guns been sitting on the charger since at least Wednesday, and today I went to see if it was done, and it was flashing "Mode 1" and "000000." I unplugged the charger and flipped the gun on. It "boots up" lighting everything up, but then the backlight goes out and all that shows is the outline of the battery indicator and the 3 little alarm boxes on the right side. With the charger plugged in, the screen shows Power On, and once flipped on, it goes through the cascading "Charging" deal.
Is this a problem with the battery? I don't want to take anything apart, as I'm not too sure about the internal stuff, beyond taking the grip frame off and other minor cleaning stuff. Any help or suggestions here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes I believe you need a battery replacement.
Marker has to be on to charge and should never be left on the charger for over 24hrs. With the marker switched to on, plug in the charger, the battery indicator should begun to scroll and should scroll 4-5 hrs. If the battery is flat, it could take several attempts of plugging and unplugging the charger from the marker to wake the battery.

Hmm, I've tried plugging and unplugging it a few times over the last day or so, but it's always given me the same thing. It doesn't even say Charging anymore, it just flashes between "Mode 1" and "00000." New battery, or could it be something else?
Check the output of your charger. You may also want to ensure the trigger is not activated.

Thanks a lot Bob, I need new magnets for the trigger as mine currently aren't strong enough, so the trigger was activated when I was turning it on. It shows the battery as full now, so I'll have to give it a try this weekend see if the charge lasts. Also, what would you suggest I lube on the gun? After being unused for over a year, I'm sure things are awfully dry, and I wouldn't want to screw anything up. Thanks again.

you can try and reset the NiCad's memory which worked great for my cordless tools. I bought an Joy A4 Fly and the battery didn't hold a charged, i reset it's memory and it's holding it like a champ after a full charge. Still holding 3 days later all bars full.

I spoke too soon. It turned on and everything seemed fine and I just assumed it was, I went to check again, and it's gone back to going to the blank screen with just the battery outline and 3 boxes. Aznrevlazn, you mentioned resetting the NiCad's memory, how is this done, and is this recommended? I don't want to screw anything up.

my bad, it's not a nicad, it's NiMH. some do have memory some do not, you'll need to completely discharge the battery.
