I just want to give my thanks for going over there and serving our country so we can stay here and enjoy our freedom.... Hat's off my friend.

something you really should consider while you're there is in fact the purchase of any higher end electronics you're interested in. Yes they are cheaper there, and when you come back stateside you'll be able to do a minor packout. It's a good time to purchase a high def TV, surround sound stereo etc etc.

If you're really into videography or photography then you'll enjoy it as well.

any seperation hurts a family, but thankfully it's only a year

trust me, be glad you're not Navy then you'd really know what seperations are about.

Take care though

Glad my deployment was only 4 months... I couldnt go 1 year without my wife and daughter... If I get orders to Korea, I am turning them down, it is likley they would just give me orders to the other base (Osan and Kunsan?) and then I would be screwed into going anyways. I guess it is okay that it is only a year, I just wouldn't know what to do with myself, plus I dont think my wife could handle my daughter alone for that long... Hopefully I never have to go. But I hope you have some fun while your there.

Yeah. My wife is kind of getting tired of the whole deployment deal.

I've done 200+ sea days for the last 17 years. It's hard to have a family or do anything being away for so long. I'm done now, it's nice to have a land based job and be home every night.

TK off the sea? What will happen now? There will be mayhem, anarchy, rebellion....oh, the HORROR! But, hey, a land based job and some good, warm spoonin' w/ the Mrs. every night is ALWAYS a bonus!
