Well i have had a Speed 05 now for a long time and at first it shot wonderfully but lately it has just been giving me lots of problems. I was looking at the detents (b/c i felt i was having some doublefeeding issues)and i noticed that one detent protrudes into the breech more than the other. After taking off the eye covers and inspecting the detents.. they are indeed the same size and are being fully pushed into the breech... but yet, one is still just barely pokeing through compared to the other...
Basically i was wondering if this is normal for a Speed 05 or if my gun was by chance milled incorrectly or something like that so one of the detents could barely protrude into the breech... Thanks for the help, really need to get my gun shooting like the champ she once was.
p.s. Should probably mention: i understand this couldnt be a problem that has just arose over time to cause my gun to have chopping issues it is just something i noticed and wanted to see if it was normal or not.. Thanks again

double feeding isnt normal. make sure that your detents a clean. i usually clean it with alcohol to make sure its clean and not oily. sometimes they stick.

hehe i know that... sorry, maybe i wasnt clear... what i am trying to find out is if it is normal for one detent to stick out further than the other when they are both pushed in completely. one barely enters into the breech while the other one is what i would consider normal.
So once again.. my question is: Should both the detents protrude into the breech equally as far?

Yes.

if you're saying by your eyeball one appears to be in farther than the other, I say that is no big deal.
I would go after the more likely problems such as:
hopper settings
hopper battery
paint quality
How have you isolated all those potential problems?

If it's been chopping a lot lately like you said, you might want to check that you're ram is set far enough back. I know some people have had chopping issues because of that. Also, maybe check to see that your detents spring are the same length, stiffness, etc.
