View Full Version : Fly hammer swap ?s
First of all i just bought an evolve delrin hammer and im wondering how i remove the old one from the stock ram. I removed the set screw but its still stuck on there pretty good.
Second of all, what kinda things would i have to adjust if i swap the hammer out for a much lighter one?
Im using a cobra valve so i cant adjust the valve spring tension. Is this a bad idea to change or can it be done by increasing the dwell or something?
Any input is appreciated
Thanks

ok you need some soft face pliers. or use some rubber. because you need to grab onto the ram shaft to remove the hammer. its locktited on and does not come off easily. i grab the ram shaft and put an allen key into the set screw hole for leverage. comes off pretty easy like that. just be careful to not score or damage the shaft.
if you put the hammer and a volly you can lower your lpr some a take out a little kick. you will really just have to play with your pressures and dwell settings when its done to see how low you can go. if your smart when you get that hammer in you will buy a jds lpr too. makes adjustment easy and improves the recharge rate too.
i had my fly down to 50psi with a dwell of 9ms. shot rediculous. with no kick.
i just had the time to tinker with my gun today and man o man did it make a huge difference. I can definately notice the reduction in kick. The gun shoots a lot smoother and more efficiently. I got the dwell down to about 45 psi with a dwell of 10 and shooting +/- 3 on a hand held chrono! The gun also seems quieter as well. Thanks for the help man i really appreciate it.
