I have a chance to buy a G7 from a at a local paintball field for $400. The problem is I have 2 Angels now(Tri-fade Ice IR3 and mint LCD), I really haven't been following the newer model. So I'm trying to get an honest opinion from you guy already shootin them. $400 sounds cheap, but I know nothing about the G7. Thanks in advance.

$400 is a great price for a G7 providing it is in good shape. Any idea what kind of shape it is in? The G7 platform is amazing. It is a great choice.
Oh, is this a G7 or a G7 Fly we're talking about? I ask because you have this posted in the G7 Fly section.

Yes indeed go for the upgrade. I went from a 2k2 LCD to a G7 and I didn't regret it at all. The only real differences between the LCD and the G7 are weight, you'd be going from high pressure to a low pressure tank, EYES and more firing modes. Personally, you'll be impressed.

try your tank on it before you go out and buy another one. my g7's run perfectly on a hp tank. but 400 is a good deal provided its in good shape and works right. and it is a definite diference from the ir3 platform to the g7. youll notice a diference in kick as soon as you pull the trigger.

Yes its a G7 Fly and it looks in real good shape, but battery was dead cause he hasn't used it in awhile. Hopefully he charged it up so I can air it up this weekend and see how it shots. As far as air, I have 2 adjustable tank that go from low to high pressure. If you can think of anything I should keep an eye out for let me know. Thanks again for the quick responses.

My IR3 is a low pressure marker, but I can use a high pressure tank without doing harm. As far as pressure 400psi would be low and 800 to 850psi is high, if thats what you meant.

is the shooting any difference? does it effect anything?

The shooting isnt any different, but if its a low pressure marker and your using a hp tank some of your parts may wear out prematurely.

is the angel g7 fly low pressure gun? How do you find out if your tank is HP or LP ?

yes the g7fly is a low pressure gun. as far as the tank it depends on what tank you have. if you can get a g7fly for 400 then grab it, just make sure he charges the battery first and lets you test fire it.

make sure it works and then see if it comes with all the original stuff like the manual and box, etc. and you can tell by looking in the manual if its lp or hp

Yes the G7 fly is a low pressure gun. How do you tell if your tank is a Low pressure, or a high pressure? Well most tanks are high pressure unless you asked for a low pressure tank when you bought it. Easiest way to really tell, most of the manufactures will color code the regulator on top of the cylinder of the tank. If the top part of you tank (the part that screws into your gun) is blue, then its a Low pressure tank. If its Red, then its a high pressure tank. If its not any color, ie: PMI Pure Energy tanks, then chances are its a High pressure tank. The next thing you can do to verify what kind of tank it is, is simply take a ASA, and connect a pressure gauge to it in place of a macro line fitting. Then screw your tank onto the ASA, and read the pressure gauge. If its over 450psi then its a High pressure tank. Hope that helps you out.

I figured I should offer my advice for whatever it is worth. If I was you and the gun worked properally for $400 I would pick it up in a heart beat, because if it turns out that you don't like the resale value on them is still pretty high you could easily make your money back and maybe even some extra. Now if it turns out that there is something wrong with it I would measure the risk versis benifits, such as, if the battery doesn't work even after being recharged, perhaps it needs a new battery and you can replace it, or maybe just a wire is pinched, just becareful and make sure you give the gun a good look over.

Keep it coming, I was supposed to meet with the guy at our local field today and try her out. But it was 33 degrees with chance of flurries. So we changed it to next weekend. So I have another week to get as many opinions as I can. Thanks for the help.

What field do you play at in Chicago? We've got numourous AOG members who live up there, and probably could hook up with you, to help you overlook the condition of the gun. PM Thedragonjedi, he lives up there and know Angels pretty well.

We'll (Mid-West AOG) be at the Badlandz this Sunday, to compete in the Chi-town Series Event 1. I'll be there. Most of those places you named, is where we practice at. Take Aim, more then any other.

we definately will be up there this weekend so If you'd like we can meet up and check out the G7 you plan on purchasing to make sure it's in good condition. I sold a G7 several Months ago for $400 and it was in perfect condition, private label G7's go for a bit more. The G7 line is an excellent performer and it's weight is considerably less than that of an IR3. It operates at low pressure and the ram/bolt assembly is such that it does what the IR3 couldn't do to prevent Ball breaks. You should always have your marker tuned properly, from input pressure to the LP pressure. it must all be set for optimal performance. So like I said we'd be glad to help you check it out and provide you with a decent assesment.

Wel I finally pickup a G7 Fly, but the charger is messed up. I have an IR3 and a LCD charger, can I use those or should I buy G7 charger. Also, either I lost it or it wasn't there and I just noticed that the breech gasket is missing, whats the fastest way to get one. I would really like to use this this weekend. Thanks

contact fixmyangel.com, they should be able to hook you up with repair parts, but unless you overnight it, you probably won't be able to play this weekend.
