I dont think this has been brought up before but the pics show the Speed board with a black casing. On the ir3, black casing meant opticle board. Is the speed have an opticle board or a microswitch?

Its an optical.
I asked ken in tech chat, it's opto.

that would be nice if it was more sensitive, so we wouldn't have to cut the spring a little bit like with ir3s.
You don't have to cut the spring at all.
Just get your frame machined for a magnetic trigger, and don't worry about the spring any longer

Can you go into more detail on this Russ? I'd like to know, as I'm sure others would too.

My friend has mem6 on his ir3, I dont really like the feel to much. Kinda because he has it so when you just lay a finger on the trigger, itll shoot. The trigger doesnt even move
The spring on the opto board is spongie. There is no way around it, it is an inherent property. If you play with the pivot point, and bend the spring around, it is possible to make it light, and less spongie, but then the spring becomes to slow on the return stroke to rip it. This can be solved by removing the spring, and using a magnet.
I am not saying that the opto spring is inadaquate, just that it is a quicker more positive feel with the magnet.
I could only get up to 14 bps before with the spring, now I can get an easy 20 bps. (17 bps in an actual game, its a bit more difficult to concentrate when people are shooting at you)

how do you put a magnet in there?
All depends on how skilled you are with a mill, press, and tap.
If not I would suggest sending it out.

to who could you send it out?
That would depend on your location.
Shortly, to any one of the master techs
