I got to step 4: UPGRADE SOFTWARE STORAGE STEPS.
I can not find the latest upgrade software file that is represented in the "how to" pdf. file as "SeriesA_v1_4.SR1" to put in the "Angel 1 Software" folder.
Therefore when I bring up the flashing program, I have no file to select to flash.
Where should this file be, that I can transfer it to the newly created "Angel 1 Software" folder?

NOT GOOD!!
I got the file from Jeroen and did all the necessary steps. I got a error message after clicking "flash" after selecting the speed.
Basically it wont finish, and my angel 1 is stuck with the led being orange and non responsive to the click wheel! Had to take the battery out to make the led go out.
MT HELP PLEASE!!
Here is a screen shot of the message I got:

Check out some of the other threads on flashing. I have seen this problem reported before in a thread but I dont remember which one.

If the error says run-time error '53'
To fix you have to delete the software from you computer and re-install.
Then reflash with the new software and should work fine.
I had to do mine three times i think its all in the way you install it onto you computer if you don't follow the process exactly it dosn't like it.

I just deleted everything, re installed, and retried, and I got the same thing.
The only thing that doesn't happen for me in the instructions, is when you first plug in the marker the prompt is supposed to come up about new hardware or whatever with the USB. That doesn't happen with me. I don't know if that's what causes the problem...
But I have to get this fixed! I have a tourney coming up quick!

In your Angel 1 Software folder...does that DLL exist? Your screenshot has the application hiding what is in the folder. That DLL needs to be in that folder.

DLL? The only things in that folder are what is visible on the screen shot. The two files. "Angel_Series_1_Flash_Utility" and "SeriesA_V2_2.SR1" Is there something else that needs to go in there?

have you made a folder called Angel 1 software on your desk top and is the 2.2 in that folder also is there a short cut to Angel_series_1_Flash_Utility on your deak top?
If if dosn't work delete again and re install i had to do it 3 times for it to work.
Let us know what happens

Both those things are in the Angel 1 software file, and yes there is a short cut on my desktop.
I'll go try it all again...

That would be extremely appreciated. I'm not a computer tard or anything, in fact I worked at a comp shop for quite a while building them custom order...
I guess I'm just missing something through all of this. I guess this is also why I normally play with my old brass pump guns...

Ok first you opened up the CP210x_VCP_Win2K_XP.exe file and did the install shield wizard.
Then went to the your c:\SiLabs\MCU\CP210x\Win2K_XP folder and install the USB driver in the Perinstaller.exe file
It should then say install complete

then go to the Series_1_Flash file and open
Click setup and follow instructions
Russ A1
04-01-2007, 07:47 PM
it then should say flash utility setup complete
then make a short cut of that to your desktop
Russ A1

that folder should only contain the 2.2 nothing else
so you should now have a folder named Angel 1 Software and also a shotcut to Angel_Series_1_Flash_Utility
Now click on the Angel_Series_1_Flash_Utility then open the Angel 1 Software file and open the 2.2
Russ A1
04-01-2007, 07:55 PM
it should then prompt you to conect your marker

Try installing on a different computer. I've seen stranger thingsI can attest to that Mav! Tried to flash 2.2 using our desktop over here. Error, after error. Went and installed it from the laptop, not a single issue whatsoever.

Finding another comp will be interesting to do. Think the public library would mind me brining my Angel in? :)

What when all the ones you have at school are so handy! lol
Click windows start button (bottom left of screen), click search, search in all files folders for fwnppd.dll once loctated copy into your c:\window\system32 folder and restart computer. Try flashing again.

I found the first file, but can't find where C:\window\system32 is to copy that file into. Sorry for being such a tard, but any help is definitely appreciated.
Should be c:\windows\system32 If you use windows explorer you will find it
