I recently acquired an A1 and the feedneck wil not tighten down enough to securely hold either my Halo B or V'locity. Has anyone elso run into this issue and is there anything that can be done besides taping my loader or replacing the feedneck?

well you narrowed it down to the two possible things to do.
-Put a piece of tape on either the inside of feedneck or outside or hopper feedneck.
-Replace feedneck.
Nothing else to do that i know of lol

maybe you sanded down your hopper feedneck too much?

I had that issue "out of the box" the nut will surely tighten enough. Turn the nut a few turns prior to clamping in the loader.

There is one more thing you could do. Take the screw out and with a strip of sandpaper carefully widen the slot between the faces. If you back the sandpaper with a thin steel strip you'll get a good flat finish. Only take a small amount off, just enough to get a good grip on the hopper.
PS. My feedneck is a little low on grip, but not as bad as yours i guess.

Neither of my hoppers has been sanded at all. I have tightened the nut on the feedneck as tight as it can go. I think i will try sanding between the ring on the feedneck. I have another question. When you remove the outer part of the feedneck, is there supposed to be some sort of ring between the outer and inner part of the feedneck? I know this sounds crazy, but if that were the case it would explain my loosness.
If I decide to replace the feedneck, any recommendations?
Thanks,
Matt

The feedneck clamp ring comes off really easy, and you should be able to get a flat needle file in the slot to open it up a bit. Remember to file the slot at a slight taper opening out to the outside of the collar, to give the correct clearance when it closes.
Just did this to my feedneck collar and it works far better now.

Reloader (same as Halo) fits in my A1 fine. In fact, if I tighten the screw on the feedneck too much I can not get the feedneck clamp to lock.
Borrowed a VLocity once and it required the feedneck screw to be tighted a bit, but still not all the way.
As for feedneck recomendations... had a twist lock CP feedneck on my G7 Fly and I loved it. You put a small collar on your hopper and it only takes a 1/4 turn to attach the hopper to the feedneck... tight and straight every time!

If you tighten the nut slightly then clamp it down it will work. Don't tighten it so much that you have to force the arm though. It will break off. You have to find the happy medium.

tighten the screw with the clamp clamped, then when its fairly tight back it out a little bit, this should be about the happy medium.

According to Bob there is alot of variance on these feednecks, he said that I should just put some tape on the feedneck. I notice alot of people keep recommending that I tighten the feedneck up more.
I have tightened the nut on the clamp to the point that I cannot completely clamp it. The ring around the feedneck is touching. If I put my V'locity in and turn the marker upside down it will fall out.
I will try filing it a little and if I am unsuccesful I will just purchase a new feedneck for it. I have always been partial to CCM and NDZ feednecks. Is the feedneck threading on the A1 just standard angel feedneck threading?
Thanks everyone for the advice, it is much appreciated.

Yes... standard 21mm x 0.75 Angel feedneck threads.

Yeah I'm having this problem too. I put tape on it and it helped but I think I'm gonna get a CP feedneck. I like the idea of them.

i just traded my g 7 for an a1 and i noticed the same thing, so i took apart my halo and put a strip of tape around the freeway/runway whatever the blue piece is and that made it a lot better.

theres a little screw by the lever on the feedneck. tighten it, and it will fit your loader.
either that or you're using a really sanded down loader.
