I finally had a chance to unpack my new A1 and the 1st thing that I noticed is that the bolt rattles/moves back & forth freely; is that normal? My gat doesn't do that.
Thanks in advance!
Tony

does it rattle from forward and back movement, or from side to side? if its forward and back its fine, but side to side is bad.

forward to back...I guess its fine then, just seems a little cheesy for a "high end" marker tot do that. Like I said, my GAT doesnt do it.
Thanks!

That is part of the "zero friction" ram/hammer assembly. That is perfectly normal for the A1. Just be sure not to store the A1 with the bolt forward so as not to distort the detents.

Congrats on the Angel One!

Yep, that's normal. If it does it when the gun is aired up then there's a problem, but w/o air it's fine.

Has the problem with the bolt needing to be pushed back through the feedneck been resolved in order to open the breech?

I might be remembering this incorrectly but wasn't there an issue with the G-7 and the new roto breech knob not pulling the bolt back allowing the breech to open?

Thanks Trigga, That's an acceptable answer...

If there is no air supplied to the marker, you will need to push the bolt back to open the breech.

It's not really a problem.

When you rotate the breech knob to the open position, it isn't supposed to pull the ram/bolt back. It just allows the ram/bolt to come back farther so you can open the breech, but you still have to manually somehow make the bolt come back... it doesn't happen automatically just by rotating the knob.

Actually it is supposed to bring the bolt/ram all the way back. It just cannot do so if the marker is not aired up, as BoB said above.

True.

But as I said, the breech knob is not what actually pulls back the ram. Turning the breech knob to the open position just allows the ram/bolt to move back far enough to open the breech. The air pressure in the gun is actually what pushes the ram back. That's why when there's no air in the gun you have to push it back with your finger.

I was just responding to Talon's question because he said he thought there was a problem with the breech knob not pulling back the ram.

I wasn't sure how to properly phrase what I was trying to say. But, as long as the marker is aired up, the bolt and ram get pushed back when you turn the breech knob...correct?

Yes.
