i was at my local paintball store and they told me i can run my g7 fly on hp and it wouldnt harm it. they said if i run it on lp it wouldnt keep up with my gun if i ramped or something like that. is this true? i just bought a lp nitro duck plasma because i dont think they know what there talking about.

Nope, if you use HP, you will have far more wear and tear on your marker, in addition to the fact that it will be extremely difficult to get your FPS under 300.
oh, and they are also lying about the recharge rate. i can get mine firing at 30 bps with no starving.
I would advise that you find another store to shop from, or at least never let these clowns service your angel. they would probably use bicycle oil on it!

One of our team members has a G7 and it shoots fine with Lp. You may have to whatch buy cheaper lp regulators because of the crappy recharge rate. The nitroduck reg was a good choice we use them.

Scions are right up there with Dye Throttles as the WORST possible tanks to own. Don't get one. I can't seem to figure out the difference (as far as physical appearance goes) between HP and LP Nitroduck regs. Along with seeing if you can chrono below 300 (sometimes HP tanks do not allow you to do that with Angels, sometimes they do), you could get an Angel tool kit (or just the gauge) and use that to see if you can adjust your output pressure to between 60 and 65 psi... if it is or can be, your tank is fine. If not, I'd recommend getting a Crossfire LP tank (since you appear to have money to spend). Crossfire tanks are the best out there and it'll be well worth your money to get one.

Hmmmmm.......... Fastest recharge, most consistant pressure, I have an evil scion, and it can keep up with my a4 flied at 30bps with NO DROPOFF!!!!!
my best bud has a dye throttle, and it keeps up at 25bps on his speed, again NO DROPOFF!!!!! His brother also has a dye throttle, it keeps up with his proto at 28 bps, AGAIN NO DROPOFF!!!! If this is the worst kind of tank to own, then what can do better than those stats?!?!?!
by the way paintchick, the angel toolkit's guage is for the LPR, NOT the valve. The valve pressure is the most important factor in the velocity equation. I am running my a4 at 40psi lpr and 250psi valve pressure. So it would seem that the guage's reading would have a VERY SMALL impact on velocity.
KCFAN:I would lookup the info to make sure what is said is correct!
I have an lp nitro duck plasma tank i will double check when i get home.

yeah cuz everyone knows that protos shoot 28 bps........
but seriously get an lp crossfire and you will be set. i run both my g7s on an hp crossfire and i haven't had any problems with them. EVER

dms, pms, and almost all dye guns are capped at around 22-24 cycles per second. The solenoid on most of them are capped at 22. the bolt assembly can't cycle that fast. the solenoid is the biggest hinderance though.
