broke my eye cover when i tried to take it off & broke my spare when i tried to put it back on. And yes i did it as recommended by wdp.
it's just killing me how stupid issues like "brittle eye covers" can bring the value of a gun down. i dunno why everything else is well designed but the eye covers by design, takes a lot of skill to remove and reinstall. IT'S A FREAKING EYE COVER!
what's so wrong with incorporating screws for the eye covers to make it easier?
just bitching coz i have to shell out 20$ & shipping for new covers....

Are they the new style eye covers? Because if they are then I don't see the problem. I've taken my eye covers off and put them on at least 5 time (for detentes) without problem so you must be doing something wrong.

How do you tell if you have the new eye covers or the old ones?

Alot of people don't like the design, specially me. I've broken one already and bi*%hed about it. BUT, I've come to find that if removed properly, not saying you didn't, they shouldn't brake. Not saying they won't, but shouldn't. But a word of advise, keep a spare handy, its only an extra 10 bucks or whatever, and it could save your but in a bad situation.

I honestly like the idea of consumable parts. I would much rather break a piece of plastic and replace it with another 12 dollar item than breaking metal eyes and having to buy a 20+ dollar eye cover. Also less weight and imho better looking!

Its weird that wdp would release 2•A eye covers without making an announcement...

Yeah, thou the markings could be a misstake (find that hard to beleave).
Seen 2.A with my own eyes, and it was WAY stiffer then the 1.A

as i pay for a new set if they break :D

2A does exist. We got a few of them at the CFOA event in Feb. I am not sure, but they "felt" stiffer than the 1As I had. Either way, the only time I had a problem with the eye covers was in 30 degree weather. The plastic doesn't give very much when cold.

All I have are 2.As. I had assumed that anything with .A is new. Notice in the update it says (new code = •A).....not even mentioning the number before it
1a-2a shows us they are the latest eye cover strap and which pocket in the mold they came out of.

bob what is the significance of which pocket in the mold they came out of?
one thing i noticed about the 1•A eye coveres is that they were a lot stronger and a lot more stiff than the 1 eye covers. They 1•A eye covers also seemed to be a much more snug fit and harder to get on. I ended up gouging the corners of the eye covers just trying to push them in because they didnt want to go in....its almost like it didnt fit and i had to force it...
There is no significance other than for quality control purposes.
