I know it can be difficult reading newbie posts asking the same old questions previously asked by other newbs. I quess its true people are constantly searching for instant gratification, probably the biggest difference between a newie and a novice is not necessarily the desire for such but knowing when you are being baited into thinking that it is yours.
I have read and found many useful tips and tricks here, but
I am having issues with my A1 and am curious if other owners have had similar problems.
I will describe
NIB A1 Version 1.8 all factory defaults. After using the gauges and making the proper settings 270/60 The only way I could get my Angel to act somewhat normal was to move the Dwell up to 10. - 10.5.
I have seen these awesome settings that Joy and Rage use butthere is No Way my gun will even operate at 6.5 ms at least not now. Maybe now that I have the gun shooting I can actually shoot a few cases of paint so as to break it in so i can try those settings later..
Maybe the gun sat in the box for so long that it needs rebuilt?
Thanks,
Russ A1

Could be something as little as that,
i had heaps of problems with mine untill i got a Macdev LP legionair.
Strange but solved all my problems.

I'm quite sure that the joy settings are made after
all internal and software updates are done.
And welcome to the wunderful world of AOG!
We've all been 'the newbie', everyone but Ken :)

check the wear on your exhaust valve, may need a new one.

First thing I would do is flash the software to the newest version. That can be found on the WDP web site. After that set it up with the Joy/Rage settings. Give us a holler back on your progress.

OK I checked the exhaust valve, being brand new you would think it would be ok. However I did see some wear on the stem, put a little love juice on it and seems better but still the first shot hangs and causes the eyes to think there is nt a ball in the Breach, also I did flash to the latest version2.1 still same results. Should there be visile wear on the exhaust valve? Thanks,

i didn't realise it was that new, you're looking for a groove around the mating face of the exhaust valve seal. The deeper the groove the worse it is.

I'm having exactly the same problem as this guy. I'm also using a LP crossfire tank.

Sounds like the solenoid to me. Contact a MT.

What is your actual tank output pressure? Not what the manufacturer says it is... what does a gauge read when hooked up to it?
I have all the Joy/Rage settings including the 6.5ms dwell and my A1 just plain rips. My tank output pressure is set to 550psi.
... and what do you mean "the first shot hangs"?

Replace the valve stem. its a perishable part, so it needs replacing every now and then.

He said the gun is/was NIB, so nothing should be worn out.

Im not sure what the exact pressure of the tank is just that the manufacturer claims 450psi.
I cant figure this one out.I retested everthing today noticed the LPR was about 65 so I started removing shims 2 I think, that brought the LPR pressure down to 57. Mini reg is set at 270. I have gone through everything I can think of no matter what I do the gun bolt wont cycle the first few trigger pulls, I can hear the solenoid cycle every time, I guess I need a MT to look at it. yea the gun was purchsed new in a sealed box, I guess there are ways around that though. It act like the dwell is set to low but at 10. ms or lowereven when its at 10.5
thanks

You really need to check the output of your tank. If you don't have any way of doing this I suggest you just hook up someone elses tank or a few tanks from your loacal field and see what it does.

ok thanks, so what is a sure way to tell the output? I have a LP Throttle but I think the pressure is greater.
Just tried the throttle same response. Thanks

There is an easy way to ball park the tank reg. Take an ASA with an off and plug a gauge in one hole and a screw in the other. slowly unscrew the screw until you hear the hiss of escaping air and then check the gauge it should give you a rough estimate (within about 50-75 psi) of your actual tank pressure which will give you a starting point atleast.

well It looks like it might be a defective solenoid I should know in a week after I get the replacement one. I will post my findings. Thanks!
