View Full Version : Impossible to get good speed on semi.

I cant seem to get good speed on this thing with the eyes off (semi). I usually play with millennium ramp and I'm having trouble maintaning speed there as well, and i think the ramp works kinda weird, at least different from other markers I'v had. I have tried a lot of different trigger setups but just cant get any good speed on semi.
I have debounce on 1 and filter on 5%, dwell on 6.5 (have also tried 9ms), paint on soft 5 and I have the 2.1 software. No other marker I'v had have been this hard to rip on. It helped though to up the paint type to medium or higher, but not much and besides I have to be able to shoot hellfire so I need it to rip on the lower paint settings.
I havent set the pressures to joy/rage settings because I dont have the gauges needed, but I dont think this should be affected by it.
So how can I set the trigger to get it to bounce much or make it very easy to get good speeds.
I'm shooting reballs btw ;)

trigger set up is all personal opinion but short trigger pulls are usually a bit harder to get up to speed with than a longer than normal trigger pull. Atleast that seems to be the case with the A1.

Try going with a different paint setting. Try it on the hard paint settings. The soft settings slow the gun down so you don't chop paint when its cold out of if you're using crappy paint.

maby you should try w/ eyes on

maby you should try w/ eyes on
That would help. Why would you shoot it with eyes off with paint anyway?

Setup the gun with the Joy/Rage settings. Use your eyes. Pressures should be fine from the factory unless you have done adjustments to them. If so you should get some pressure gages to verify what they are presently. You also need to know what your tank reg output is. I think anything below 450 PSI will give you trouble. Don't get me wrong on that pressure. It will still work but not up to snuff in ramp modes. The marker could be getting starved for air.

Mine rips in straight semi. You said you have the eyes off...do you have the MROF eyes off setting to unlimited?

100% Joy/Rage settings and I can get 14-15 BPS over the crhrono in semi with a fairly long trigger pull.
Ramping is for wussies!

When I'm not at the field I like to dry fire a bit. Thats why I have the eyes off. I have the joy/rage settings except that I havent checked the pressures, but some say its fine form the factory(I havent messed with the pressures myself).
I'm took the grip of just to see exactly how the trigger and magnets operate, and I saw two magnets. One magnet directly above the magnet adjusting screw and one further forward. I dont know what that magnet does? Anyway when I reassembled the marker, the trigger wasnt stiff at all even if I adjustet the magnetic tension screw all the way inwards so I dont know what happened but I'm going to test it on sunday.
I'm also going to test it with semi and eyes on. As well as hard ramp set up like the millennium ramp.
thanks

I know several others have had to add/remove shims to get the Joy/Rage pressures, but I was lucky enough to have them right out of the box. Never even looked to see how many shims I have in the marker.

About the ramp, i just can tell you that the A1 do not ramp with eyes off or without paint. So dry firing will not let you ramp. About the semi ROF, you should check your trigger settings, maybe you have the activation point to close to the beginning of the trigger pull. That way is to difficult to rip. Make sure that your MROF in both eyes on or off, are setting as you want.

check your BPS settings. It may be too low for you to go any faster.

I fixed it I think. Adjusted it with a long triggerpull and the activation point at the back. This way it so light and much easier to rip. And now I have it on paint type soft 3 and still going strong :)

Ok I just found out what was wrong.
It turns out that my my magnetic return strength screw is not the screw in the back of the trigger but the one in the middle. I know it says otherwise in the manual, but when I back that screw out I get a super soft triggerpull. I dont know if WDP did a mistake when assembling it, by putting the magnet screw in the wrong place, but now it works. I use the back screw for front stop adjusting and the middle screw for magnet return adjsuting :)
