I just got an A1 and i was wondering is it normal for the detents to be falling foward into a little slot. Help is appreciated.

Unless the detents are torn or double balling you should be fine. Having a spare set is always a good idea though. AOG sponsors can fix you up.

EDIT: Does he mean like they are bent?

They like fold into the gun when the bolt slides past it...hope this helps u understand

well obviously the will be bent on the firering cycle, but that happens extremely fast.
To answer it, if the detents remain "bent" forward even after you leave the gun at rest (bolt NOT pushin on detents) for over 5-6 hours you should replace them as they are worn.

On that note....many people take the bolt out when not in use.

or you could put a piece of paper towel as ken/bob said so bolt wont move freely.

Yeah I just rolled a piece of paper towel up and taped it at the top and just put it in the feedneck and leave it like that. If you take the bolt out the breech may swing open and chip your frame.

sticking tissue in it is better because if you dry fire and forget to put the bolt back in, you could damage the breach.
