Ok, I have had my angel 1 for a few weeks now and only have been able to play once with it due to the ice storm. When I did I was having issues with ball detection and something that felt like FSDO. I wrote off the eye problems that day due to having broken paint in the breech due to the cold (26°).

What was happening was that I would make it live (I generally do not turn off the marker all day) and then when I pulled the trigger I got nothing (and there was paint in the breech). I would then switch off the eyes and give it a few more pulls before I got a shot that dribbled out of the barrel. I would then turn the eyes back on and it would be ok till I let it sit for more than a couple of minutes. Then I would have to go through the whole procedure again. I did put a fresh battery in that morning so the voltage was 9.6 when I started the day.

Now when I am prepping my markers for this weekend as it looks to be nice (in the 50s) I find that I can get off 3 or 4 shots and the marker freezes up. I wait a couple of seconds and I can fire again. If I slow fire I get off a shot a second or two no problem but when I go to fire off a fast string I get the 3 or 4 shot and then nothing... When I turned off the eyes it rips...

At first I thought it might be the new hopper (empire B2) but I have the hopper on speed 6 and the mic on 3 and tension monitor on so it should be good (and in fact it rips on my NXT), I would have tried out the hopper on the G7 Joy but it is down with bad eyes.

Anyone have any ideas?

Shooting winter paint so no breaks today and I did clean it after last play so the eyes are clean and do register paint in the breach when I drop in a ball and register ball in breach when the issue occurs.

i had a problem like that and it ended up being the noid. it should still be under warrinty, if you absolutely can't figure it out send it to a mt. you could also try upping your dwell a little.

Up your dwell and your anti-bolt stick and see if that helps a bit.

I would like to agree with you but when I turn the eyes off it rips...

Also what is your software version, and if you upgraded it yourself try redoing it, and make sure you have a brand new 9v in when you do it.

Contact Bob or Ken and they will get it straightened out. My best guess is noid or LPR, but with the eyes off and it working it may even be the board. Try to set your BPS cap with eyes on at say 15 to 18 and see if the problem is still there. I noticed your eyes off BPS is at 18 and it works fine. It may be possible to "overclock" the noid if its bad with the settings you have, ie BPS unlimited. I think there were a few noids discovered that couldn't keep up with the settings. Either way one of those two will take care of you.

Reflashed the board with the 2.1 software and now it is ripping with the eyes on...

So it looked like reflash was the answer in my case.
