help changing rubber detents

I am trying to change the rubber detents on my angel 1, and I am following the instructions in the manual on page 21, but when it gets to the part where you remove the fore grip that is where i am having the trouble. how do i remove the fore grip, the manual doesnt really say how to. Is there a screw i need to take out or something? This maybe be dumb question, but I am new at this

look under the barrel there should be a screw holding the exhust valve on take that off and carefully take the eye covers off

Once you have taken out the mini reg, look inside the foregrip frame and you should see a hex head screw. use a 4mm Allen key to unscrew it, and the foregrip should pull out easily. The mini reg comes apart quite easy. Just unscrew the bottom cap.. then use the mini reg puller from the kit to take off the mini reg.

Thanks for the help, well the good news is thanks to the help I got the fore grip off, but the not so good news is when trying to remove the eye cover I broke it. Looks like i will be ordering a new one today, and finish changing these eye detents when i get the new eye cover. Thanks for the help

Despite the manual saying so you do not need to remove the foregrip to change the detents. You just have to remove the eye cover.

I just saw BOB's reply to rangerjoe's post on removing the eye covers. Bob says that you don't need to remove the foregrip to take off the eye covers. I was able to take off my old ones w/o removing the foregrip, but with the new eye covers, I did manage to snap the eye cover when trying to remove it with 2 best buy gift cards ( I couldn't get business cards in between the eye cover and the body).

Check out Ken's instructions on how to remove the eye covers. :-/ should've looked at that before i changed mines..

I have found some eye straps are easier the remove than others.
We have 3 in our team and while mine comes off quite easy the others you have to remove the forgrip because the eye strap has a little grove in the base of it that sits between the body of the gun and the mini reg.
Because these eye straps were the older style and we have plenty of spares i shaved down some of the piece that fits in the groove now they are all easy to remove.
