View Full Version : A stupid question
angel buyer

This is probably a VERY stupid question with an obvious answer, but here it is anyway.
I own two markers, a Tippmann A5 (i like to recball on the days the speedball field is closed) and an angel g7 fly (otherwise i wouldn't be on this forum). anyway, here is the question, if i return my LP tank for my angel and buy an HP tank for my tippy, will i be able to use the hp tank on my angel without any upgrades?
and if i do wind up needing upgrades, could you tell me which you prefer?

Two things:
1) Unless your A-5 is milsim, then son't be afraid to take that A-5 into the woods for some rec/woods or even sceniaro ball. Don't let people tell you Angels do not belong in the woods, NO MATTER WHAT THE COLOR.
2) Most people do not have a problem running HP on the G7 platform. Worse case is you might have a problem getting the velocity down past say 300fps. But not many people have that problem. The Angels work best on LP but can work very well on HP tanks.
Hope it helps!

DON't Try high pressure on the G7 Fly. It will blast air out of the small hole in the side of the inline reg when you try to air up. I know firsthand, and deservedly felt retarded upon realizing it. It says use low pressure for a reason. Or try it if you want, your mileage may vary, but don't be surprised. See this thread :

my G7 ran fine on 850psi. and that's because my reg was out of wack. (it's adjustable) then I had it replaced and it running on low pressure. works the same. some people do fine others have problems. but Low is recommended for us.

That's great that several of you had good results with HP on their G7's . Like I said, your mileage may and obviously does, vary. Mine was a no-go disaster with :
1) Red Crossfire HP 68/4500 ( 850?) I think,
2) Bulldog ACI HP 68/3000 ( 800 ? )
3) Nitro Duck HP 114/3000 (800-850 ? )
But worked fine immediately with
- Pure Energy 68/4500 LP ( 400-450 ) and a
- ANS 68/4500 LP ( 400 )
By the way, the ANS 68/4500 is VERY Lightweight and noticeably shorter than the Pure Energy tank/reg. It's more towards a 70 peanut style, but not that short. I am very impressed with it so far, For what it's worth. 5 year hydro and inexpensive , too.

For what it is worth the last time I spoke with Crossfire, they said their HP's are preset to 810psi.
