Volumizers do nothing but add something to the front of the gun.

apparently with this model they are adding enough air space, by not only putting a volumizer on the right side, but moving the LPR over to the left (and I'd venture to guess you could put one on the left now too) this will give you the large colume of air needed to achieve the low operating pressures that they were shooting for.

Ahh, I was just preaching that they did nothing before, why something now.
Because the internals and air passageways were all redesigned...

You aren't mistaken...It is quite large.

When you lower the pressure it's going to take more volume of gas to fire the ball. Normally you can have 350psi with a few cubic cm of gas in front of the valve. When the valve opens it only need a little of the higher pressure to shoot the ball. Now when you lower the pressure like WDP has done, it takes a bit more volume of LP gas to fire the ball. So before when the valve opened it would only take, lets say 1/8th of the gas that was in front of it. With LP it now probably takes 1/4th of the gas that is in front of it. So to avoid shoot down it need more gas to shoot off while the reg(s) recharges.
So when you go lower pressure, you need more if an air reservoir for the large volume of low pressure gas.
At least that’s what I gather anyways; correct me if I’m wrong.

So the people who buy the spped will need to buy a voluminizer to enjoy the benifits of LP?

well I was up in NY two weeks ago and the guys at Pro Paintball said nothing about angels. They had no angels, no angel parts... they're all about intimidators and matrixes now (cockers too, it goes w/o saying...) so i think there will be no free flow speed, or ir3.
