The G7 claims to shoot 31bps, but when I read the owner's manual the 5 firing modes are all limited to 15bps. What gives?

semi "mode1" can be capped up to 30bps. all assisted modes are capped at 15bps

Wonder why angel never offers an assisted mode that goes above 15 bps....

I believe it has something to do with insurance. Back in the day with the older IR3's and such... they only had modes on Angel's sold outside the US. Angel's shipped to the US were all locked. I'm pretty sure there are rules for fields that say they have to keep all the guns on their fields at 15bps or slower. Just an intelligent (or not) guess. Realistically, you could set the debounce level on your G7 very high and have some killer bounce basically making it ramp. Again, won't be allowed at a field, though.

Well many of the fields i play at allow any ramp modes with no limits unless they get complaints from me owning too much lol.

put it in semi and then set tr to 22 and you will have uncapped ramping(for the most part)

When I used the stock G7 board, I never really got it much over 15 bps in semi. At that point in time, I wasn't involved in any tournaments (or open day events) that allowed anything but semi. Now I'm getting into fields that allow ramping, but they're capped at 15 bps. C'est la guerre.

I eventually went with a Tadao board for the feel of the microswitch, rather than the optical trigger activation of the stock board. Now I've got assisted modes that I can mess around with uncapped (man is it fun to shoot 18 bps effortlessly).

But I never use this mode in official tournaments or events, and only use unlimited ramping with the permission of my teammates in practice (and at home where I demolish all kind of objects and thusly satiating my destructive desires and frantic frenzy for fast and furious flying semi-oblate spheroids). Bwa ha ha ha haaaa!

ZORN needs more paint. More paint!

the ir3 was locked in all but like 2 countries. it wasnt insurance or field rules though. it was because wdp was trying to conform to astm standards for safety. they quickly stopped that. but in order to provide safe markers that are tourney ready they still cap all assisted modes at 15bps. which is within all major event rules

If you ask me, they should offer both assisted capped modes and uncapped modes....too many of us are buying boards to get past that. I like my LCD on my g7 too much tho to get a new board.

Unfortunately, WDP wouldn't do that... it would be much better business to do the unlocked capped modes then locked uncapped and charge $25 to unlock... hehehe...

Anyone know how to manipulate a g7 board lol???

Well it doesnt make sense when a lot of other markers offer both capped and uncapped modes right out of the box.....But i do have to say, i rarely ever am wanting to shoot above 15bps, i plan to not waste money lol.
