which paint to use with G7?

I've just upgraded from a Tippmann 98 to a 2006 Angel G7. The G7 has a Freak barrel. My Tippmann loves Marballizers.

What paint does the G7 prefer?

Your new G7 should shoot most anything as long as you have a big enough Freak insert in.

I know nothing about Freak barrels. Hopefully I can figure out the insert situation.

The Freak inserts have a machined inner diameter which is indicated on the side of the insert. When you are choosing your insert, you want to have a very slight drag on the paint as it goes through the insert. Start with your largest size and work down. Hold an insert upright and put three to five balls in the top one by one. The balls will most likely fall right through the largest insert. Move to the next smallest and do the same test. Keep reducing insert size until the balls stop falling straight. That insert should be a good match to that paint batch. You will want to make sure you test at least three to five balls because there are usually slight variances within a given batch of paint. If you only test one ball, you may have possibly grabbed the very smallest one in the batch and every other ball would bind and break. If you have trouble with that insert being too small just step up to the next largest.
