2.1 software

i just got myself an angel1 and wow, but i askes the guy who i bought it from if it had the new software and he said he believed so but not 100% sure. how can i tell. also if i try to download this again (the new 2.1 software) would this affect the marker in a bad way if it already had the new software. also if it doesn't have the 2.1 what kind of usb cable do i need for this to my computer. thank you

you just have turn it on, go to the menu, select information. and there you will find the software version installed.

The cable i have for mine is a gold connector USB cable (A to Mini-B) and i don't think it would bother the board if you flashed with the 2.1 again by accident. But if it's there i wouldn't bother it will be fine.
Note if you flash with new software make sure you install a new full battery every time as it has a habit of sucking them dry.

i really want to thank you guys for the quick response, i will have to check that out tonight when i get a chance. i have been on other forums for other things and no one is usually this helpfull with little things like this. again thanks. also two last question, where might i find this usb cable, maybe just at a computer store? also the angel 1 just takes a 9v correct?

You can get the cable at Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, Office Depot, etc, and yes it uses 1 9V.
