View Full Version : Egg 2 wont fit into my ir3 fly

I got my new egg 2 and the neck doesn't fit my flys neck. can anyone help? do i sand it down? if so, what kind of sandpaper and how much? thanks!

Note: i know this has been posted before and i searched for it and i couldn't find it

Yes, you must sand...I'd do it by hand, checking for fit regularly. Some have used Dremel tools, but you can screw up twice as fast. Take your time, get a coke.... When it gets "close" just a little bit too much with make it sloppy.

start with paper that's about 100grit......have a nice time....

I actually pulled the loader apart, and pulled the tray out to do mine. I had a flapper wheel for my cordless drill and I went to town with it. It was faster, but you can get flat spots etc.....and you'll have to sand down more than just the first inch or so, you've almost got to thin out about an inch and half to 2 inches to get it deep in there.

for sanding down feed necks ive always used a file. you can sand it down quickly and carefully pretty easily

Use a dremel tool. Start with the sanding disc, and then switch to the wire wheel to smooth it out after that. It wont be perfectly smooth, but the wire wheel makes its pretty good.

Takes about 5 minutes. With sandpaper...its gonna be a long and slow process.
