didn't think they'd released the Y-board as of yet.....
I remember hearing something that VL had a machine breakdown right before Mardi Gras so there wasn't anymore Evo2's for a while....not sure what the status is on that tho. :dunno:
Maybe in Vegas this weekend? :dunno:

jasyn.....it is supposed to make the Evo2 feed at about 21bps, and get rid of the sun problem that some people have experienced. I think they announced it was forthcoming around the time of the MGO.
i've ordered one from the local store here... should be here in a week or so... in blue... i thought you lot in the US would have them already...

I just got home from the NPPL super-7 event today. I live in Vegas. Anyway, I thought enough to bring all my equipment with me, especially since I broke my Egg2 hopper by forgetting that its not a real football and spiking it into the ground like I just made a touchdown, this after chopping badly several times.
Anyhow, The VL booth had a table full of egg2 hoppers getting upgraded, and I added mine to the mix. Tomorrow morning I'll have my egg2 back with the new board and hopefully a new feed neck and body. Heh, it'll probably cost me more than just buying a new damn feeder. Oh well, no big deal. The board upgrade was $25.
Oh yeah, the VL guy told me 19 bps, not 21. But whatever, as long as it works and will keep up with 15 I'm happy.

When you go to pick it up tomorrow, you should ask when it's gonna be commercially available.

The guy at the VL booth told me there were 7000 on backorder, though they were selling the clear ones at the JT booth I think.
He didn't know when they would be caught up on manufacturing.
i asked for blue... and was told that thats what they were releasing....

Oh, and they replaced the door and body for free, but were out of feed necks so I'll get a new one at the PSP event. Anyhow they fixed it all and upgraded it for free! yay
Not yet Ben they know i want one bad... so i will just wait till they call me...
I have this nasty habit with them for asking for stuff that ain't even out yet... I think i had one of the first R11 bolts in the uk off them...
If any of you americans are ever over here for a real game and need some pball gear... give LPS a ring... top guys and gals...

I guess the guys over at Warped just tested out a SPEED with the newest Egg II with y board and it out shot the hopper... Thats like 21bps!!!! well anyways, I just bought another Dark IR3 (in case anyone cares) It's the silver dust model and has all the newest features... I am totally hooked on these mo'fo's... .I hope Warped waits a bit before releasing their line of Speeds because I don't have enough cash.. hehe... but i guess thos new eggs are hella' fast man...

I filled up the hopper this morning and gave it a go. with MROF set to 20 I outshot the hopper. with MROF set to 17 I didn't outshoot it.
It's fast, yes. But, there are inherent problems with the quality of the electronics. Try turning one on with no paint in it. The speed of the motor changes constantly, as if it isn't getting a good connection through the stupid rheostat.
It also seems to dog out under load as if it doesn't have enough power. I"m gonna try some stronger batteries, but I figured the brand new Energizers should work fine.

You can out shoot a EGG at 11bps, plus when the batteries get low it just turns off. I like them but wish the motor was stronger.
Going to get a HALO next, since it is supposed to be fixed.

what was your bps count?
AstroZ31

when I outshot it it said 14. when I didn't, it said 12.
of course you have to take into account that the bps is measured over the course of 1 full second. that means that if you shoot a 10 round burst at 20bps in .5 seconds, then fire only 2 more balls for the remaining .5 seconds of the measuring sample, the display will read 12bps, when in reality you were ripping 20bps for .5 second.
In other words, although it said 14bps, I felt as though my speed wasn't extremely smooth and I was probably ripping off 18 bps or so in short bursts, followed by slower 12bps bursts.
I would really like an ACE system, but with WAS pneumatic controllers programmed in, but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. I guess a HALO is the way to go, adding a rear ball detent and possibly another front detent.
That would be cool actually, mill the body for a second ball detent on the other side, add a rear detent so the balls won't roll backwards, and notch the bolt like the speed for the ball detents.
Somehow I'd bet that with a combination of a halo and those 2 additional ball detents, there would be no more feeding problems.
When and if I get the $$, I'll give that a shot.

agreed ... that's why i believe it's best to unload an entire hopper during these tests... repeat at least 2x. it'll smooth out the deltas, offer more "data points" and somewhat negate the human side of the testing.
i wish i had a digicam so i could up some vids.
