isnt the "rip" drive just a manual feeder in case something unfortunate happens? i guess it's made to address worst case scenarios.
i had problems with my halob force feeding. odyssey has since updated the drive programming and some hardware. i sent out my halob earlier this week for updates. -> http://www.odysseypaintball.com/halobupdate.html. it should address the force feeding issues. <cross fingers>
i've been using my evo2 and the thing just cant keep up. quick bursts of 3-5 is fine but anything beyond that and chop chop chop. :wall: that + cops1 is pretty useless but people with cops2 seem pretty satisfied.
additionally, odyssey has EXCELLENT support so take that into consideration as well.

moved to correct forum.....
However I've been using an Evo2 on my IR3 for a long time now, I love it. You'll find that this topic has been discussed about a dozen times in various forms, if you'll search you'll get much faster answer to your questions.

Safest bet is an Evo II, by quite a margin...

Evo 2 is a piece of crap. Gone through 2 of them, and they all break. Halo has its problems, but if feeds better and faster and odysee's support is second to none.

It's funny Crypto, I have the exact opposite experience. Don't get me wrong the Halo is a sturdier beast, but it just doesn't work on every IR3. Frazer at WDP even told me that they don't rate them...

I see a lot of eggs around....i just wish they were made by someone else. BE doesn't seem to be on the ball...they are too concerned with stocking WallyWorld shelves....IMO....

Well I have been having problems now with my halo. But I am still convinced that the halo is the better loader. Rip drive will help a lot and also with the new angel speed with new ball detents, everyone will start using em. Keely Watson was using one at nppl las vegas on her new angel speed!

The rip drive just allows you to maunally feed paintballs into your gun in the event that the Halo's electronics break down.

Or batteries die.... Or motor dies....

personally i think the rip drive is a joke...not only that....it just looks bad with that thing sticking out the bottom of the hopper....
i havent had any problems with my evo2 yet...so far so good...

I have a Dark IR3 Angel and I run a Halo B on it i've never had a problem with it, strong shell and it has more BPS than any other hopper on the market atm. I would take a Halo over a e2 anyday becuase of the BPS, Shell, and the design.
