I have been out of the scene for a few months from being sick with pneumonia, and now Im back on the field to play. I want to upgrade from my G7 Fly with tadao and stuff, to an A1, but why is everyone having problems??? Everything from my A4's to the G7 fly have been flawless, are these A1 problems, a manufacturing flaw, or user errors? I am a bit shocked when coming back to the boards and seeing very little about how good the gun is...

I would say it's probably a problem with WDP quality control.

When the gun works properly it is phenomenal. However...I agree there does seem to be a bit of a quality control issue this go round.

I have had my A1 for six months. Other than a bad oring in the bottom of the minireg I have had no problems. I recently replaced my detents just for the heck of it. I have almost 29000 shots on mine. She is deffinately the farrari of paintball markers.

This seems to be a serious issue with WDP. I want an A1, but I need something to shoot reliably. I have never heard of this with WDP markers in the past. Like other markers, maybe smaller isnt always better...

if u want a reliable marker, buy an ego. i like my a1 but the solenoid was damaged after 100 shots and the software spooks - no modes work except semi and FA

I have shot an ego and was not inmpressed. my a4fly shot twice as fast twice as accurate twice as smooth etc. if you want a good marker get an a4fly and put a LUCKY BOARD (http://www.buyluckypaintball.com/servlet/Detail?no=127) in it. thats what i did. I currently have 1,549,231 shots on my a4. HOWS THAT FOR RELIABLE!!!!!!!

mate:-) the solenoid issue was a problem with a charge of solenoids its an error of the component supplier not an error of WDP
and stupidly it hits 4 of our teamguns :-( but they have nearly consecutively numbered Numbers

and the software thing happends to some guns not to all!
but i am sure that WDPwill fix this soon!

The first generation of A1 have a few problems that was fixed in the new one's. If you bye an A1 now, you will have no problem. I buy mine in November and men, this is really amazing. Buy it, it worse every cent.

It is just too bad that you really only hear about people are having problems because most come here to AOG to look for solutions.

It would be safe to say that whatever generation A1 you buy now (say if you are worried about buying an older one or first run A1), it can be brought up to par with an A1 with all the latest updates. That is why it is best to purchase from an MT. That way you have insurance that what you buy now will be the A1 you've dreamed about.
