Can use use both the red(high-800) or blue(low-450) tanks on the speed?

I believe its posted that the speed runs on 180-350...if its on the lower end of that you could use both, but on the higher end, you might get shootdown on the LP tank.

You can use both because of the inline mini reg, but I would go the the high pressure one because it will minimize shootdown and also more compatible with a wider range of guns. If you can afford it, I would get adjustable. Nitro duck makes a screw-in adjustable tank that looks nice.

I bought an old style APOC head (heavy) off of somebody. I guess since the speed is so efficient that i could get a 45/4500 tank to offset the weight of the head and have plenty of air for a couple of games.

You would probably get around 1000 shots on the tank, maybe less. Also remember the efficiency is based on using an angel air tank which is adjustable.

Yea so is the APOC, so it would work out nicely.

Oh apocalypse... lol got ya... 45/45s are awsome, good luck.

I don't see how adjustable tanks will affect efficiency. Maybe consistancy. I mean, your reg isn't blowing off air somewhere, if it is you might have a problem.

What i was saying is that since the SPEED uses less air then I can move down to a 45/4500 tank with the APOC head. This should help in the weight issue.

It doesn't use less to fire the paintball. It uses less pressure to pull the bolt back and switch the solenoid, which causes less exaust from the ram retracting.

frazer said to use the low pressure tanks if you are using a preset one or you will need to use a thor or something like that to drop the pressure going to the minireg

ya TAG said that too! im kinda ticked. then again i dont see how using an 800psi output can be harmful in any way. the minireg is there for a reason so whats the difference between putting 800psi into a regular minireg or a new LP minireg when the only thing that changes is the spring stack.

I was going to get the Crossfire 88ci 4500psi Phat High Pressure Fixed Nitrogen System at 800 psi. I didn't think I needed to get another reg as the Speed comes with an inline reg. Do I have to get another reg like a nitro duck or something?? Or does it matter?

You will not be able to use the crossfire high pressure preset (red) it will not let you reg down to a playable velocity. The range of the speeds minireg is directly proportional to the input pressure.
You will either need an adjustable HPA system, or a low pressure high output preset system.

Thanks Russ. Good info from a reliable source.

Perhaps now would be a good time for WDP to make 5000psi tanks?

I'm sorry, I understand the confusion, I should have explained it a bit better.
On the speed the mini reg is similar but not the same.
Internally, the spring arrangement is different, and the piston is longer. This is to accomodate a better range at lower output pressures.
The adjustability is incredible, it is possible to raise and lower the pressure by 1 psi at a time.
To do this, the mini regs range had to be shifted. At 700 psi input to the mini reg the out put at the lowest is 300 psi.
So it would be safe to say that we need to get the input pressure somewhere around 500 psi if we want to be able to adjust our velocity.

Did you mean to say 300 fps?
Refresh our memories, what's the range of adjustability on the A.I.R.?
Thanks.

http://www.angel-owners.com/manuals/air/page6_7.htm

A.I.R. adjusts from 100 to 850psi output.
Tank psi display reads from 198psi and above.
All this according to the manual as per the link. Anyone have any other info?

So what tanks that are preset can we use on the SPEED?

Since they said you would have to use a low input tank you will probly have to use a low pressure crossfire.
