It's confirmed!
Microsoft's and Parallel's Virtual PC in your Mac work fine for upgrading your 'Angel One' up and beyond version 2.1.
The upgrade works as advertised in the instructions provided by WDP for PC installations.
Good work WDP, Connectix, Microsoft and Parallel! It'll be great if WDP could get a native Mac OS X version for the Flash programmer, but in the meanwhile virtualization works just as good.
Enjoy!

That's good to hear. Although, not all of us mac users have virtual pc for our mac. thats why i started a thread asking for wdp to look into a posible mac version of the angel 1 software

But yeah, like you said, it would be great if WDP could get a native Mac OSX version for the flash programmer.
Still good to hear that it works with virtual pc.

I honestly don't think WDP had anything to do with this. We've been testing the Parallels application here for a while and it's the developers at the company who have been improving compatibility with their app. I'm not surprised at all that the Angel software works with it... as mentioned above... that's still not an answer or a solution the the question/demand...
When will Angel 1 software be supported for Mac OS X? Running a Windows emulator in OS X isn't a good answer in my opinion.

True JawCrusher,
This is a 'poor's man' solution, but the fact is that the PC emulation on Mac OS X works with the WDP's upgrade and that's that!
You can argue effectively that the new Intel-abled Macs can run Windows XP natively and this is a better solution but, many of us still have old PowerPC Macs that can't.
Again you're right, we can't credit WDP for having their flasher application run smoothly under PC emulation. About the only kudo I can muster is that their application doesn't crash. Besides, I don't think WDP is going to come forward any time soon with a 'real' solution for Mac OS X users and honestly, me and a bunch of other people are not willing to wait that long.
At this point in time, PC emulation is the 'only' answer for 'old PowerPC' powered Mac users.
So until someone tries it and fails to get their marker upgraded using the PC emulation approach this will suffice for Mac old-timers like me.

Ahhhh.... see, I thought you were talking about Parallels for the Intel Macs. I completely spaced that you were refering to the old virtual PC app that works on PowerPC's. Like you said... hey, at least it works. It's still too bad they don't pursue a Mac platform as it's quite obvious there's a handful of people out there that would like to see it.
(I'm in the same boat as you... the machine I use currently our PowerPC's)

Do program PCs day in and day out... and I am not impressed.

And there's the pointless idiot post for the thread... glad we filled that quota quick.
