I have a mac but not a video ipod. My guess is that you need some sort of application that converts it to the ipod's format before uploading it to the ipod.

iTunes will SOMETIMES convert your videos to iPod format (MP4). Go to versiontracker.com and download a program called handbrake. It will let you convert various movie types to MP4. No problem with podcasts and video iPod on my end. I also have the latest version of iTunes. There's a section in the Prefs in iTunes that deals with podcasts... maybe mess with those a little? Oh, I guess I have experienced one problem. iTunes sometimes doesn't automatically update new podcasts. If you right click on a podcast that hasn't updated in a while, you will be able to manually update it.
G'luck!
