View Full Version : Velocity and eye problems on my A1

The problems;
1. When dwell is set between 12 and 10, the gun sporadically detects the ball in breech. Below 10 it wont detect the ball at all unless turned off and on, then it detects for one shot.

2. Velocity wont go above 210fps and is +/- 20 at that.
I had to do the below settings just to get balls to leave the barrel. With dwell any lower it either fills the barrel with balls or wont cycle. I've also been having massive FSDO issues.

Dwell is set to 12
Abs is .5 (have also tried a range of 3.5 to .5 with no change in perfomance)
I dont have the pressure gages yet, so I can't say what those are
loaderspeed is 14. I've used a stock halo and a victory halo on third setting.
debounce is 5%
Tank output pressure has been tried from 350-500psi
I flashed it to version 2.1 in an early attempt to fix the problems. It came stock with 1.7 and had all the new parts.

You should use the Joy/Rage Settings.

As I said, lowering my dwell below 12 stops the gun from shooting at all. The only difference between my settings the Joy/Rage settings is the dwell.

In other words, I tried to use them, the gun wouldnt even cycle.

I think the problem may be with the pressures; however, since you don't have gauges it will be hard to tell. Post back when you get the pressures.

Thanks!

Are you on the latest fw? Mine started doing that after loading the latest. My pressures were dead on.

I shipped it to ken and i'm waiting for the verdict now.

well I got the gauges, the HPR was a little low, at 250psi. The LPR was at 58psi. After raising the HPR up to 270, the gun still doesn't cycle with dwell less than 12. I did get it shooting consistently around 280fps with dwell up at 15.

whose got an idea?

Sounds like the problem I had with mine, where my bolt was too tight for the breech. It wasn't firing at all with a lower dwell, but when I sent it to an MT to get fixed, they replaced the bolt. See if your bolt isn't too tight in your breech(don't ask me how to check :))

The bolt in mine quite easily slides back and forth just by tilting the gun to and fro, enough so I was wondering if it was supposed to do that, and apparently it is.

I'll try the new battery and get back to you
