I'm in the position where I can either get my hands on an A1, or get an force 4 fly and a gat. I've owned angels for a long time, and I had a gat for a while. I'm concerned with the effeciency of the A1, and if all of the bugs have been worked out of it. Should I go with the force and gat or jump on the A1?
Thanks,
Brendon

If all three are used, then I would say go with the Gat and Force 4 Fly. Both of them are reliable and great markers.

i would also say go for the a4 and ga+...both have much better ball detents and better air efficiency which is where there A1 is lacking

I completely disagree. You can get a used A1 for a great price because the resale is not too great. The new style red A1 detents are awesome. They are very strong and last a long time. With the new ram hammer and valve stem the A1s will get very good efficiency. Don't worry about the bugs. The A1s ony had bugs in the first few months when the first came out. with the 2.1 software your a1 should be shooting ropes with no problems at all.
go with the a1. hands down.

are the valve and hammer aftermarket? or are they an update through angel?
i like the fact that i can have two solid guns, one main gun, and a solid backup. if i were able to get an a1 i'm sure i could swing a rage or joy a1, but i'm just a bit worried about problems.

the new valve and hammer are updates through wdp. they are stock on second generation A1s. but all the A1s that were sold in the first few months dont have the new valve and hammer.

The A1 is sweet as hell, but no after market upgrades for it yet, at least none that I know of. I have an A4 Joy, and if you can set it up right with the right upgrades, it could shoot better then an A1. That just my opinion.....

I'm still having problems with a Red Dust A1 using v2.1 software, but then again I would rather shoot an ion than go back to a force fly....

I agree with Busta on this. The A1 is an amazing marker and all of the problems have pretty much been sorted out now. This is the marker to shoot if you have the money to get one. A1 FTW!

RE - no aftermarket parts
Seriously, what would you upgrade on the A1 other than a couple of smaller bore backs?? Part of the reason I bought the A1, no need for ups - shoots ropes outa the box once it is set up properly by your tech.
You can tell gen 1 vs gen two by the shape of the hammer - there are pics around here some where, I just can't remember where I saw them. Should ahve read tgallo - he has link to updates!

My new RAGE A1 should be arriving any day now... I can't wait. I have been out of the game for 2 years. My last gun was a 2003 Speed. I'm sure the A1 will not disappoint.

id would say A1 size wise their nothing better, performace wise it probley has a small advantage over them, you may get lucky like i did and get an A1 thats perfect no bugs or factory problems.

My RAGE came in since my last post in this thread. It is even better than I expected. I have put over 2 cases through it without a problem. I bought it from Ken and he put all of the new internals in it with the exception of the bolt that I am still waiting for.
The gun is very fast and I get around 1400 shots out of a 68/4500 fill. This was without a good paint/barrel match.
I dont think they are any less efficient than any past generation.

The feedneck has also been moved forward. I think other users would agree that this aids in balancing the marker. I like function over form, so balancing the marker is a very good improvement to me.
