Dark Speed

So here is my question is there any word on whether or not there will be a Dark Speed because personally I want a speed but I try not to shoot anything but Dark Angels.....

The reason that the dark 2k3 LCDs were 1050 because all warped guns come with lifetime warranties and plus it had fade anodizing.

I talked to mike and they are coming out with a warped sportz speed but it wont be out for at least 6 weeks later than the normal speeds release.

Well I guess that fact that Warped Sportz is not only more popular than Mo's (I don't hate Mo's, I love em too, just saying) and that they are franchised must of never crossed your mind.

I called MOs today and and was asking about the SPEED. I ended up pre-ordering. The guy on the phone was really helpful and after he gave me my total he says " oh yeah, by the way you get a lifetime warranty from us so if you have any problems with the gun just send it back to us". That was a pleasant surprise. Do any other stores do this and not charge an extra $200-250?

its NOT a crappy name, the marker is about speed, it can reach up to 30bps, speed is an accurate definition of the marker, so the name is fitting - the lcd has an lcd screen, the ir3 has infrared,.. and so on etc,..

simple milling is the key. I think the Rock is the best milling out there, if you were to sand off that stupid devils tail. it is so cut down and pure. the speed seems like it should be simple and pure. based on what it is next to the ir3. the main reason i bought the fly ir3 was for its cut down milling. I would love to see wdp do a fly version of the speed. Call it the "Light Speed" Off the topic question for ya. why no venting on the 14 way likt it is in the on the ir3. is it not neccesarry any more?

The speeds have landed 2 days ago in to the warehouse. So they are in the US. If a design for the "dark speed" has not already been done, wouildn't it be to late to do one now?

but Russ the Dark line has always come out a couple months after everything else, and Hindean is saying that their design group as yet to go over to England to tell WDP what they want theirs to look like....yeah it's pretty much dead now since it was a speculation thread, but at least now Hindean has come out and said yes for sure there will be a Warped version of the Speed.

I have a base black. It has no vents and as has been posted many times the vents were strictly for appearance purposes. They also included panels that you could put there with most of the markers so that it wasn't mesh anyways. Well with the C&C IR3's anyways.

How about something along the lines of the old Elemental milling. The speed sorta reminded me of that milling style when I first saw it anyway. I'm personally against vents. Just looks like something that would be a pain to clean.

i think verts = pain in the but cleaning. just think u get a direct hit to the vent, now that's not fun :doh:. the element did have very nice milling, and w/ that you could have the class breach and rocky devil tail. but as cool as that would look i think they should go w/ somthin totaly new. somethin that isn't very complex, but still but shows movement b/c the milling on most markers up to now don't show a lot of movement. it's called the "speed demon", for now at least, so it should then involve some sort of feeling of speed or movement. thats just my 2 cents. :smiley:

man, jewels that look like demons? Wish i would have waited for that! They really didn't change much on the 2k3 lcds besides anno. Doesn't seem much worth it to me, but that's just my opinion.

the thing to remember tho is that in a time when noone was offering any sort of Warranty other than the 6 month warranty from the manufacturer, Warped Sportz was and they still stand by it today. Yes WDP does the milling and anodizing based on the specs from Warped, but Warped moves more units per week than most Angel dealers do in a month (or at least they used to, not sure if they still do). Warped was also one of the first companies to get their names and "Custom" markers out there by having Avalanche use them exclusively and with all of Avalanches success it really helped the sale of Darks. They're still Angels, and they still perform, and with places like Angelparts, and Mo's pushing their Lifetime service warranties the Warped Sportz warranty may not be worth the added price tag, but you're still paying for the name and the unique milling and anodizing patterns that Warped has done over the C&C and Stock and the standard WDP anodizing colors. I've been treated well by Warped, and because of that they have a loyal customer in me.

well, I'm not doggin on ws because I know a lot of people with darks that love them, I'm just sayin that in a marker like the speed or 2k3 le, there must have been a lot going on at wdp that let them be able to produce them for far cheaper than their other guns in the past. They put out gun for under a grand, and all people can think about is where they can get them customed to make the price well over that. A new anno job and some cute little devil jewels just don't seem so much worth it, because as you said, other companies are offering the same warranty that was such a selling point for ws before. Now, on the other hand, if they come out with some wicked azz mill job for the speed I am there. Personally, I think the 2k3 mill job would have been much better used on the speed if WDP planned to stick with the speed for a while.

The 2000 Dark angel has the teardrop milling. The 2k1 has the bat milling, and the other model had the flames.

When I was at NPPL in Vegas, I talked to the WDP guy and he said that they had the Dark Speed in the CAD, but it still had to be made. He also said it would probably be an LCD.

It would be a lot lighter, faster, less money, different milling, new pressure sensing system for paint (COPS2) and low pressure internals. No infrared, etc... so not really an IR3.
