View Full Version : G7 & Pulse RF Chip

Just got my G7 back with the RF chip installed.

Ramping

Doesn't seem to 'pulse' on every trigger pull. More like 6 out of 10. I've even moved the reciver to the opposite side of the loader to be nearer the transmitter.

Semi

Again, no 'pulse' with every pull. Most likely 8 out of 10 pulls.

Haven't tried it with any paint yet as I don't think the shops around mine would really appreciate it.

There seems to be some concern over Angels with the RF chip as there is only a very low current used through the solenoid wire. This is where the RF chip is 'spliced' into. Maybe there's not enough power for both, all of the time and maybe that's why it's not pulsing every shot.:dunno:

Will find out tomorrow......

Works fine for me. I have the chip up in the top portion of my trigger frame and it works fine.

Just installed the RF chip in my G7 with Tadao Board and it works flawlessly, mine is also in the top portion of the trigger frame. (fits perfect in there!)
Soldered to the back of the board at solenoid pins.

just a quick question. why are you guys not plugging the rf module into the hop port on your g7 or tadao board? its the a1 that doesnt support the rf and needs to be soldered inline with the noid. the g7 board has the port and controls for it.

Way less wires & wire length to deal with.
Why not solder? Unless you have shakey hands then don't.
to limit the messy look & I ran the wire behind the board so when I pop the hood(grip) it is CLEAN as a pimps shoes.
:awesome:

yea i can understand the solder it in for a cleaner look part. but do you have a force tadao or an angry? cause the force has the intelli port. you must have the angry....
wingnut, what board do you have?

Let me get this straight: in my mind it makes perfect sense that the Pulse's RF chip would work in the HOP port because it does put out voltage (the on/off values are adjustable by the board to boot!). I haven't personally taken out my volt meter to measures voltages, but I bet the noid voltage is the same as the HOP port.

I'd much rather use the HOP port on my A4 Fly than to splice the noid wires and I'm getting a Pulse with the RF chip sometime soon.

I definately have a Tadao as I purchased and installed it, LOVE IT!
works perfectly even tested it with ramping with RF to see if it would miss the ramp ball as some have had issues. I like less wire and would be wasting my engineering degree if I didn't cut & solder wire sometimes; not sayin it wouldn't work in the Hop port but it works well how I have it.

i can understand why you would want to solder it fully. but why didnt you just solder it onto the back of the hop port? you have a force tadao. it has the hop port. it just gives you some control over it. if your on the sol side it only activates for the set dwell time. not sayin it shouldnt or doesnt work for you like it is. it just makes more sense to me to take advantage of the full set of features that the tadao offers.

Plugging the rf chip into the hop port would result in a different/longer signal.

The say your Hopper T Time is 0.05 - 1.00 that means that your hop port supplies a signal for 50 milliseconds to 1000 milliseconds. With the rf chip you are sending a signal for the guns dwell time, anywhere from 6-12ms depending on the marker. 6 to 12ms is a significant difference from 50-1000ms so I couldn't say that the hoppers logic would know how to interact with the longer signal, it all depends on the pulse loaders logic. I would say you are probably better off connecting it to the solonoid verses the hop port.
With intellifeed the circuit current is cut when the a stopped ball is found in the feedneck.

I don't know if this is exactly how the hop port functions so correct me if I am wrong but this reasoning seems logical to me.

I tried it plugged into the hopper port on my tadao board, and it wouldn't link with the hopper consistently. So I got the destructive custom wiring harness, and plugged into solinoid port, and works fine. This is on G7 fly.

yea i guess they designed it to work with any marker. but it just sucks you have to void your warrenty to use it. if you bought a master tech angel then your pretty much screwed.

It's an Angel G7, who needs a warranty? If it was an A1 I might think twice as a warranty may be useful based on reviews from users. Not flaming it I just like my G7 and 04 fly. Both have worked flawlessly.

oh i agree with you. i have the markers in my sig. and i wouldnt trade my a4 for an a1.

I finally got a Pulse and I'm having RF issues with it. It doesn't pulse on every dry fire shot on either the SOL or HOP ports. I also bought one of those destructive customs wire harnesses. Has anyone else solved their RF problems on an A4 Fly?

Edit: Problem still not solved, I opened a new thread about it: http://angel-owners.com/showthread.php?t=64225.

is this a direct drop in for a stock G7 board? Or does it require some modification?

So does the RF chip work with a stock G7 non fly, i got the loader but skeptic if i should buy the chip heard noid port doesnt have enough juice

works fine for me.

stock G7.

Only thing I would defo suggest is that you move the receiver chip to the opposite side of the loader.

The RF chip only fits in the left hand side of the gun (as you look at it from behind) and the receiver chip is on the right side of the loader as standard.

Well some work and some dont really work for some reason, but i got my pulse on saturday and played sunday till electric fried, had to change batteries in the hopper ever 2 hours and really upset me, so now i am sending it back and getting a vlocity with gangster chip! Loved the design of the pulse and it was fast as hell but it eats batteries for breakfast lunch and dinner and even in between, and it wasnt pooring rain outside but a lil wet and the hopper fried and wouldnt work anymore and had to use my evoII as a backup and missed the last game of the day andwas done with the pulse, dont really wanna test my luck with the rf chip and see that it doesnt like my gun or something and battery hunger was not really cool especially cause here in germany they will rob your last cent out of your pocket for some i think i spent 25 dollars in batteries for one day!
