How come it says to run oil through the asa to maintain it, but then every so many shots it says to take it apart and grease it? Why wouldn't you just take it apart and oil it?

because you dont want to use oil on the internals. only grease. the love juice oil should only be used in the macroline and then dry fire a couple of times.

When you add oil to the ASA it cycles through the entire marker. For a while, it was actually advised to put the oil into the top of the Mini-Reg to avoid gunking the Mini-Reg itself and ASA with the oil. Greasing is an entirely different operation and is used mainly to coat the O-rings around the non-cycling hardware (ram, lpr, etc).
