does anyone know how to convert the protected itunes m4p files to mp3 files on a new macbook pro? i have searched and searched but everything i find is for windows based computers or it requires an older version of itunes, and another program i tried couldn't be opened in safari for some reason. please help.

ive burned a cd with the mp4 on it, then just ripped it back using a program that rips them as mp3s

Prime example of why to buy DRM protection free music from somewhere like allofmp3 rather than from Apple's i-tunes music store.

just try NoteBurner (http://www.noteburner.com) and it can do this in even better and easier way.

I've heard of people just burning and ripping, which has been suggested by p8ntballermark already.
I've heard of some people doing a direct recording of the sound files. Like, play it and record the sound within the same computer. However, that's a really big waste of time if you have more than a few files.
