Howdy.

Anyone know what the minimum voltage for a stock 2000 LCD board is?

I'm troubleshooting an Angel LCD board and battery that I received with no guaranty that either works. It came with two 6v 1000mA batteries. The first one charged for 5-6 hours and wouldn't turn on the board when off the charger. It shows 4 volts when I tested the battery. The second battery also charged for 5-6 hours and when finished this one had a full charge indicated on the LCD screen. It would turn the board on and I could cycle through the menus, so I believe the board works. I tested the battery and it showed 6v.

I let the battery sit overnight with the switch off and disconnected from the board. Today I plugged it in and the board wouldn't turn on. I checked the voltage and it dropped to 4v, just like the other battery.

I suspect that 4v is below the minimum, just wanted to confir with some other people.

Also, anyone know of a way to successfully 'recondition' the NiMH batteries? I'm thinking of rigging up some light bulbs to drain the battery and then recharge it a couple of times to see if it will hold a charge longer than a day.

Hate to spend $60-$70 on a new battery, but I may have to.

It sounds like you have a dead cell in the first battery. :(

It's interesting that the second one was at full voltage, but dropped quickly. It is probably dead too. Perhaps you could disassemble them and take enough good cells to build a good battery?
