I know the G7 and A1 both lock the rotobreech by pushing the bolt forward.

But i dont know how the knob works. How (exactly) does the knob adjust where the ram retracts to? Is it simply a screw and a pin, or is it more compicated that?

A good discription would be appreciated. Pic's would be superb. :)

And before i go about figuring how adapt that to my 05 speed, would a G7 ram cartridge drop into an 05 speed?

The reason i ask it the action of pushing the bolt forward leaves the lip of the bolt much closer to the feedtube, which would limit rollback.

The bolt is set forward by the twisting of the knob. It isn't really a thread, but a slot at an angle. Turning it forces the backstop of the ram forward, allowing it to only return so far. Putting it in a speed would take some work. The ram isn't threaded in, it's held in place by a pin. Not sure if the air ports would line up either.

looks like the ram, with a new hammer, will drop in with minimal effort. The body is the same length and diameter, ports are in the same spot. Only difference is the attachment method, which i can fix either of two ways.

I could press a threaded ring onto the outside of the ram, or i could mill the body and frame for the pin. Either way would be pretty simple, though the threaded ring is less damaging to the gun itself.
