View Full Version : issues with a1
i purchased an a1 around 6 weeks ago, first the reg was giving me problems, but it seems to be broken in now and works fine, nowm y other problem in the breach is loose, very loose, and my detents are completly screwed, the balls literaly role out of my barrel if i point the gun downward. i can also see a red light on the left side of my gun, i think the eye cover is bad.
here are my questions
1) How do i fix the loose breach
2) are the detents under warranty and how can i get a new pair
3) where can i get new eye covers

I doubt the detents are covered under any warranty, but you can get some detents from Fixmyangel.com, I think they 10 come in a pack, and they are about 12.00 dollars or so, otherwise alot of people have been using the ego detents. If you are needing new eye covers I am sure you can look on the fixmyangel web site and find what you need.

Tighten the set screws on the breech door to tighten it up, detents are not covered under warranty, you'll have to buy a replacement pack and change em out. Seeing the light from under the eye covers doesnt mean their bad, if the eyes arent functioning properly then you might need new eyes covers but just because you see light doesnt mean anything.

There is always going to be a little bit of red light you will see from under the eye covers, that is normal. I like it that way I know they are on.

Yea, i have the same issue with the infared light showing through the left side, but as stated, that's normal.
i tried the screws, but the door losens up again after ~250 shots which is really annoying, it looks almost like the door will just pop open on the gun (happened to a friend of mine's A1)
and i read somewhere it is possible to replace the A1 detents with the 06 ego detents, is that true?

throw an oring behind the knob that locks the breech to tighten it up, the screws on the breech guide ride arent responsible for holding it shut. You can throw Ego detents on the A1 but they wont last very long as they dont stay in well at all with the A1. If you just make sure to leave the bolt in the back position while storing the gun you dont have to worry about the detents, they last fairly long with that simple precaution.

pick up a pack of new style detents from bob at fma. they are much stronger and will last a lot longer.
