you need to use a program like ipod access to get the songs off your ipod and put it on your hard drive (on the macbook), the free version of ipod access only lets you move 5 files at a time so I would look for a free program that lets you move an unlimited number of songs, search on google and download.com, then you can DL itunes on the macbook and press file/import/ and select all the songs you want in your itunes library

First off... CONGRATS on your new MacBook!!! You'll absolutely love it!!! If you have any question regarding ANYTHING with a mac PM me. I work exclusivly with Macs (hardware and very deep software).
The websites mentioned above are good however, I recommend http://www.versiontracker.com. Just type in iPod and it will come up with all apps pertaining to iPods. I've used PodWorks, Robs iPod Extractor, and iPod Rip. I belive most of them are shareware allowing you to use limited features w/out paying for them. I believe there's one that is free that'll copy down your entire library. In any case.. good luck and let me know if you have any other questions about your new Mac.

Not true unfortunately. Transferring songs directly from a person's iPod is against copyright law hence why it is so difficult to do it. I actually just thought of a great idea of how you could do it. Assuming all the songs on your iPod are on your PC..... you can use your iPod as a hard drive if you have enough room. What you do is.....
Instead of adding songs to your iPod through iTunes, find the folder on your PC where all your songs are located and DRAG them directly into the iPod. When you plug your iPod into your MacBook you'll be able to open up the iPod from the Finder and drag the songs into iTunes. If you don't have enough room on your iPod you could either restore your iPod erasing all the songs or copy the songs from your PC to some type of burnable media (cd-r, DVD-r, etc...).
Of course if the songs are your iPod exist ONLY on your iPod.... you'll have to download ripping software as mentioned in the above posts.
G'luck and post if you have any more questions.

I use sharepod and it works great.
just use your I-pod as a hard disk instead of a mp3 player.
My friends and I share movies all the time like this.

You don't even need a program on Windows, you just click show hidden files. Then they will pop up. All of your songs encrypted but once you drag them into iTune it will fix that.
