View Full Version : MidWest AOG team for Chi-town PSP

Who is interested in getting a MidWest AOG team together for Chicago PSP D3 Xball next year? If we all meet maybe once a month every month to practice together that would be good enough.
Let me know who is interested and who has money. Maybe we could get AOG to hook us up with some AOG jerseys(ie Long Sleeve Shirts with AOG logo on them)

Quoting the AOG admin:
I'm down with you guys putting together an all AOG team, the only thing i ask is if you plan to attend national events and use the name I'd like to know about it.
We dont usually let people use the site name as their team name but if they reall want to theres not much we can do to stop that. Most people ask and we say we dont like people using it and they are ok with that and choose soemthing else.
Its not a big deal either if you already have a team name and if everyone is from teh site tack on an -AOG just to kind of let people know.

I would do it but, I need a job first to have the money for xball then I will do it

Our team, the Dodge Ballers, are planning to play there but we're in central Iowa so practicing with you guys would be a hell of a commute. Good luck with your venture! ANGEL OWNERS UNITE!!

I wouldnt be playing with you guys (too far to go once a month to practice, and im just starting a rookie this year), but i think me and some friends will be roadtripping to watch PSP in chicago next year. So Ill be there to cheer you on!

The same goes for my son. If you want to practice at the Badlandz in Chicago once a month, I can get him there. If you are in dire need of players when the PSP comes, then I can join you as well, that's if you don'y mind a 46 year old player !

doesnt matter who wants to play, even if we play just D4 5man ya know. I know Matt's stand on using the site name, and also the AOG, thats why we would go as MidWest AOG
Let me know who wants to play, you must have PSP ramp on your gun. We will prolly just play D4 5man, cheaper and easier on everyone.

welcome to MidWest AOG
We just need to get some dates for practice setup, I think it will be easiest once spring comes, if everyone lives close enough to Chicago, we should try to practice there if possible.
Maybe we could look at the possiblity of playing a NPPL D3 event instead, but I think D4 5man will be the cheapest easiest route for everyone.
TheDragonJedi
09-19-2006, 05:18 PM
not a problem, I live close to fox, take aim, chicago Paintball (evil and several other big name teams practice there), and the badlandz. My team and I practice every thursday at take aim (indoor) so we will be in pretty good shape until formal practices start for midwest aog. I think jinho and craig wouldn't mind joining either. they're both 30 something.
Speedy_in_Blue

age isnt a factor, 5man is a little easier on everyone than Xball
Speedy_in_Blue

if we use me, you and your teammates we'll have 4, get prolly 2 more just to have an extra guy there then too and we'll be good to go.

you probably dont want just anyone to come and play, especially if some of them have never played in a tournament before. (Just a sugestion) and i'd much rather play the PSP circut.
TheDragonJedi
09-21-2006, 09:59 AM
That's why there is practice. Some have got to start somewhere when it comes to tourney experience. And from what I gather this would mostly be for fun and getting an AOG crew together to represent.
JDemonpbt

I think Div IV would be better to start out with. My hopes are (w/ AOG Ohio) to start different State Chapter teams such as AOG Ohio, AOG California, AOG Flordia, etc... Then have AOG Factory teams from different regions of the country such as Midwest to start playin lower divisons of PSP & NPPL. We can draw from talent from the different State teams to play in the regional teams. Then maybe move people up to higher divisions, and eventually turn some players into PRO's. Thats what I'm hoping for, if eveyone is cool with that.
Speedy_in_Blue
09-21-2006, 05:46 PM
yea, sounds good to me. I think D4 5man would be a good idea. If we have enough interest, maybe possible put 2 teams in, it would make it good for practice.
If anyone needs to get ahold of me, we can discuss things more futher.

Dude, you've got one sour attitude. And it's not just this post, it's your other ones too. stay out of it if you're not contributing in a constructive way that doesn't piss off 20 other people. It's nice you like to play to win, but alot of other people do it for the passion.

okay umm sry i guess, but it sounds as if the only person i pissed off is you, i just wanted to let you know that i wont be showing up to any practices or tournaments, and no offence but if you dont think paying close to 1000 dollars to practice and "have fun" while playing a major tournament circut event, your just dumb.

lol, wow is all I have to say to you. Grow up, you have one of the worst attitudes on the planet. This is deffinatly a just for fun thing for the MidWest members of Angel Owners to play, and Chicago is the easiest place to do it on a large scale, doesnt bother me any if you dont play, sounds like you think your king §§§§.

Look at it this way, How many times have you got laid soley based on the fact that you were a local tourney player? Now throw a Nationally Recognized tournament and your chances nearly quadruple!!! How do I know? I don't I just consulted my magic eight ball and it told me so.
Also just because it's for fun doesn't mean I'm not gonna give it my damndest to win so yeah I do want to win it and I will play to win it even if I don't, I did.
and by the way thank you for wishing us good luck, whoever we might end up being.

In reality we only need 2 more but 3 more would be nice. We can start practicing at Badlandz or something else depending on where everyone lives.

did you use the little quote thing i came up with?
paintchick79
10-23-2006, 07:53 PM
Woohoo! Really looking forward to this hope you guys are too! We should try and set up at least one or two practice dates over the winter just so we can all get a feel for each other and not be completely bleh once we get started in the spring. Perhaps a weekend or 2 in Chicago... if one of you guys who lives down there would be willing to allow some fellow ballers to crash on your floor (hope that wasn't insanely rude...).
Perhaps we should also plan to have practices in more than one place, depending on where everyone lives... there are a few fields up here (I'm from the Madison area of Wisconsin) so we should all try and discuss that.
My other question... would you gentlemen rather get REAL jerseys (we can go with CSG, but there's a 10 jersey minimum, or we can go with animalpaintball, with only a 5 jersey minimum. Both places cost $70 per entirely custom jersey) or just screen printed long sleeved tees. I'd like to get started pretty quickly if you want real ones, as it could take awhile. Other things to consider:
Colors
"Look" (dark? something with the MW skull logo (someone should find out if this is OK for us to use first...)? other?)
Do we want our real last names on the back or our usernames?
DEALS/SPONSORS/ETC! I know of a few teams who got paint deals with Empire... really good paint deals, just by talking to them. If any of you know anything about this, we should get right on that, the cheaper this whole thing is the BETTER!
Other ideas?
I know its early to do this but if we decide to pay $70 for custom jerseys I'd rather them look good than be thrown together the week before.

I'm totally down with custom Jerseys. IF we go with CSG we could each get two jersey's if we want. As far as color, I"m like you guys and perfer Blue/black/gray. I think it would be cool to have like Angel Wings down each of the sleeves of the jersey, and have the Angel Wings Logo's from WDP on the back of the jersey, w/ the letters "AOG" down between the wings, and then say "Midwest" under them. I also would perfer our real last names on the backs of them as opposed to our screen names. Just My opinion.
As Far as sponsors and factory logo's go, Do we really even have any sponsors? Besides this website, (Which I think we need the site's address printed on the bottom of the jersey's) are we trying for WDP sponsorship? That would be totally Kick A@#.
Paint, well the store my girlfriend owns, sponsored team had a PMI deal through the store. They ended up shooting Ultra Evil, Only avaliable at National Tournaments, and VERY High grade stuff. They shot about 16 cases at Chicago this past summer, and it only costed them around $280 total. SoI suggest we try and do something like that, and I'll even see if my girlfriend will help us out any.

JDemon: Like all your jersey ideas, except the one involving each of us getting 2 jerseys. If we can get enough people to pay for jerseys from CSG, I'm fine with that, but I don't want to have to pay for two $70 jerseys. I'd also like to find out which of the two companies has turned out better quality prints because hell, if I AM paying $70 to have a jersey printed, it had better look NICE... and again, we're not looking at a difference in cost here.
The one other thing you mentioned that may be a problem is the use of the WDP angelwings logo. I believe its copyrighted material and therefore we'd need to get WDP's approval before using it, along with getting the vector art from them (because any printer will laugh you out the door if you send them JPG/BMP/GIF images to print) I'm POSITIVE we can find suitable alternatives anyway.
Last bit on the jerseys: it looks like you definitely want to have an "angel" look. Do we want "heavenly", clean, etc angel look or grungy kind of "fallen" angel look? I personally think we could make the grungy "fallen" look work really well... but I can throw together 2 different ones for you guys to decide on either way.
The paint deal sounds great, definitely look into that one. IF YOU DO MANAGE TO GET SOME KIND OF DEAL: Get a contract. Contract contract contract. I've been screwed over where this kind of thing is concerned and that's the last thing we want.

I've got several folks I can talk with and hopefully make something happen as far as paint. One is my practice paint Sponsorship with Vengeance Paintball Distributors, the other is with Sammo up at ARCHON PAINTBALL or John Rathbun himself at PMI and EVIL. I'll touch base with them and see who is willing to help us out.
I live at most 45 mins from all major fields here, along with that I've got two homes with enough room we can use to crash. For any real winter practice I suggest chicagoland paintball. Chicago Evil's Home field, we can scrimmage with them or any other number of teams that show up. Cheapest will be Take Aim Paintball on either wed, thursday, or sunday.

Deffinatly find out about that. Also paintchick79, if you wanna come up with a design, I can prolly put it on my CC and everyone just pay me then.
I will also need everyones size, and names(real names) for the back of the jerseys. Im also gonna have everyones username put on the back under their last name just so fellow AOG'ers that arent playin can see who we are from the site.
Also, is there any interest in playing Xball at all? I mean, D4 5man is the cheapest route, but I think we could all have a blast playing D3 Xball, its fun

That's cool, winning isn't the important thing in these races, it's all about the support, awareness and research advancement. When I was involved in the Avon's walk for breast cancer the team managed to raise almost $20000. That's more money than any of us would ever see at one time. I'm glad he finished it.

so when and where do you guys plan to have our first practice? And I feel like I need to point out for everyone, that Div4 PSP will only let us roster a team of 8, no more, and nonless then 5. Thats why I suggested we get 2 jerseys if we do the custom ones. I understand Paintchicks reply about not wanting to spend the extra money, (makes sense, we're goin need it to play) But who would want to buy a custom jersey if they're not goin get to play. Don't get me wrong though, I still think Div4 is were we should be.
TheDragonJedi

Everyone would be able to play. If we had a full roster of 8 for a 5man tourney we could rotate players for different games against different teams.

I meant if we ordered custom jerseys, we have to get 10 of them. We can only roster 8 for Div4 PSP, so who would get the two extra Jerseys? No one will want to buy them if they werent going to play.

Not True, and that is just mean. He's been playing for 14yrs now, Suffers from Cerebral Palsey (SP?) and can still play like any one of us. Granted He can only have one bunker through the whole game but he does just fine with his "Ramping" and is quite good. He's never played a tourney though but he just wants to staff for us, not play.
The jersey thing should be settled. Miss Paint will be working on the design then?

Speedy_in_Blue, whats the updated rooster now?
When do you guys want to start practicing? I suggest Nov 17 or 18th sometime that weekend, before Thanksgiving. I can only afford to go up to Chicago maybe once a month, and we only have 8 months till Chicago PSP, so that means I can only get in about 8 practices with you guys before the tournament. Next, Jerseys I don't mind if we don't have them before our first practice, besides that (Our first practice) will really let us know who all is completely committed to playin. We also need to decide who is collecting the Money for our jerseys when ever we do order them. I nominate Paintchick, since she's workin on designing them, and I think she'll keep good records of who's paid, and who still owes, etc. If thats OK with her. She sounds like a honest person. Next, how are we on sponsership? Has anyone tried getting us any? I'm still trying to work out a paint deal, how its been done in the past is the more paint the store buys from PMI, the more extra cases PMI has givin to the store, who then in returns gives to the teams, for free. Last year, the store team got 4 cases free, and then had to pay like $24 per additional case at Chicago. What ever deal I do get brokered We'll diffenetly get a contract. But everyone else, please keep an eye out for anything else you guys can get.
Speedy_in_Blue

Ill be contacting angelparts.com, one of the MT centers, I used to play on the same team as Sean and Josh from there back in the day, still friends with them. Ill talk to Sean, see what I can get. Any interested in WDP pants? I can prolly get the 06 line fairly cheap.

I'll talk to jim at our local field and see if he cant get us a similiar paint deal. I also play with Mikey from DiscountPaintball every week so I'm sure I can talk him into a little something for us as well. I probably won't know anything until I see him again so I'll keep you posted. In the meantime keep working out any deals you can.

My apologies for not responding sooner. I am indeed still working on a design.
I'm willing to work on collecting the money and basically doing everything involved with jerseys, and you can bet your behind that I'm not out to take your money - but I must stress this: I WILL NOT ORDER UNTIL EVERYONE HAS PAID. I've seen multiple teams have people not pay for jerseys, and one guy is left with a $500 bill on his credit card for jerseys he's not going to wear. I can't have that happen.
Another thing: IF WE GO WITH ANIMAL CUSTOMS, THE MINIMUM ORDER IS 5 JERSEYS. This is why I'm going to suggest THEM because we then don't have to order extras. If anyone WANTS an extra jersey, and someone sees a good reason to go with CSG, then that's just fine. I'm simply saying that if no one is really that interested in ordering 2, there is another option.
To anyone looking into sponsors: If anyone agrees to sponsor us, please ask them for a VECTORED (not jpg, gif, png, etc) version of their logo. It will be a file with a .eps or .ai extension most likely. If you can get it, please forward it to me at a.n.katch@gmail.com.
For jerseys: I'll get a real move on them this week, have some concept art up for you guys to look at, but I can't guarantee that they'll be finished, approved, ordered, and in my hands before Christmas. I will certainly try though. Please PM OR EMAIL ME (don't post it in this thread, I might miss it) with your information in this format:
[First Name] [Nickname (if you want one)] [Last Name] [Number]
I don't think I'll be able to make it up before December 3, the weekend AFTER that is a possibility.
JDemonpbt
11-06-2006, 01:02 PM
Well then Ok. I think we should hold off practice until Dec 8-9 the weekend after Paintchicks request. We should ALL Have our money for Jerseys on that date, so we can hand it over to her in person. I don't blame her on not wanting to order them until everyone has paid... Next I think we should go with the CSG jersey instead. We already have est. whats going on with the extra jerseys, and plus from my own experiance, I think CSG makes better quality Jerseys then Animal PB does. Everyone cool with what I Say?

It doesn't matter either way where we get the jersey from. PaintChick makes a good point about being stuck with a bill if someone doesn't pay, especially if it's a 10 jersy min. That is already $700, However, if paintchick's design translates well to either jersey company, we could pool up the money and Go with CSG if all the money is there. If not then we could go with animal and save a few bucks.
One of my friends Runs a Q-Doba restaurant in Warrenville, IL. He is willing to do a few things for us including $100 towards our jerseys with Small qdoba logo (Paintchick, I'll get you the graphics soon) and possibly food incentives everytime we come out to practice we come into the store with our jerseys displaying q-doba logo, and we get either food discounts or free food, not sure which he's willing to go with, but I'd want to know that we could all show up for post practice dinner or something like that.

Hey guys, I just sent out a Email to the Badlands about helping us out w/ practices and having a place to play. Should hear a reply back in the next few days. If we get our team registered with them (yeah we would have to pay a fee) we would get cheeper entry fees and discounts on paint, plus private use of the fields, so were not playing the walk-ons. They also have a deal going on, where if we buy paint from them, we get free Air and entry fees for the rest of the year. Check them out. www.thebadlandz.com

I've got One person , Nick "Wheels" Pagonis, interested in a Honorary Jersey. Don't know what number he wants on his.

I'd ideally like to collect checks at our first practice. If you can't be there or aren't actually planning on play (honorary members), I'll give you my address to send a money order. I HIGHLY recommend sending a money order and not a check or cash, because if the money order gets lost, you at least have a chance of getting it back. I'm also going to ask that we don't use paypal, because the 3% fees are going to get pretty big with an order like this.

Hey Ally I was wondering are we getting the Raglan style jersey's or the Set-in Style. I think I would perfer the Raglan. Also do we all have to order the same size, or can we get a varity of sizes? If we ALL have to have the same size, then I recommend getting 2XL, thats what most Pro's wear, and it will leave them a bit baggy which we want.

I actually am unsure on the fabric question. The CSG website isn't very well maintained (they haven't yet posted the revised pricing/minimum order schedule), and the "Fabrics" page is completely blank. As far as sizes go, I'd ASSUME we can each get different sizes, though I'm not completely sure.

Ally, those jerseys are amazing. Also, NPPL maybe a little more exspensive but I have another person here that would play with us if we go NPPL, he shoots a Arsenal G7, and is one of the better front/insert players in the state.
Also, Im fat......I normally wear 3XL jerseys, I can fit in 2XL but the 3XL gives me that extra baggy feeling that I like. Im pretty sure everyone can get the size they need.
If my friend that shoots the Arsenal plays, I really think we should look at the NPPL, not only will it give us more time to practice, we might be able to get some support from WDP since they support the NPPL. The master techs from AngelParts.com are 10mins from me and I used to play on the same team as 2 of them back in the day, so we are friends, Ill see if they can hook us up with a deal on like WDP apperal(ie pants, gloves, pads)

So then Were not getting together on Dec 8th and 9th? Trust me guys, and Girl, we will need all the practice we can get, diffinetely if were only going to get together once a month, which is all I could really afford to do since everyone lives all over the Midwest.

I really think we're going to have a tough time all getting together during the month of December. If we really make the 6ish practices we're going to get REALLY count, we can do reasonably well. It's all going to be in how we manage our practice time.

Unfortuantely I havent taken the time to read the entire thread so I dont know all the official information but I do have an idea. As far as knowing a 100% sure if I can be places at certain times I wont be that good at I'm a senior in highschool and my schedual is al over the place*Perents makeing plans w/out your knowledge and forcing you to come along, not having money, or problems w/ school the list goes on...* but I will try my best to help out in anyway just let me know of everything ahead fo time. lol you sound disappointed, but Don't feel bad, I'd much rather start sooner than later too but It really is a bad month.
Ally, I know what you mean. We should really have a plan to manage our practice. Our practices should focus on several aspects to coordinate our efforts with one another. We could then focus on our individual conditioning during The space in between.
Devin, 'bout time you showed your ass up. Make sure you do read the thread and you'll be caught up just fine.

I tried. I really tried. I got all the names outlined and created but didn't get the time to actually post them. CS2 at school is effed up... Photoshop won't save my pictures as the correct file type the first time.... and the school's Internet is awful. Sigh.
As far as practices go, I think we should work them something like this
Saturday/first day should be spent running drills, perhaps figure out one person who is the best at each position and have those people run drills for anyone looking to play that position (does that make sense?). I know several excellent drills we could run, and I'm sure we could easily come up with more. If we run out of drills or get insanely sick of them, we could have intra-team
scrimmages and maybe a short discussion (sounds like Health class doesn't it, kids? :)) every 5 games or something.
Sunday/second day should be spent playing other teams.
I hate to be the great big party pooper here, but I'd like to request that we keep the drinking to a minimum. Waking up for practice with a hangover is not a good way to be productive.

Same here, besides I really don't drink.... Much. No just kidding. As far as practices goes Alley, I think we should first just play a couple games together, to kinda get a feel for how we "Gel". Then start working on Drills. As far as postions go, well reallisticly not everyone is going to be good at some postions, but everyone SHOULD be able to play any and ALL postions. SO we should ALL be practicing the same drills.

Here the details in a nut shell so far. First Practice is Jan 6 & 7, must have money for entry fees and paint if needed for Practice. Where still to be determined, but my guess would be ChicagoLand Indoor field in Chicago IL. Must have transportation to practice. Thanks to Jedi-Dragon We have a place to crash for the night. The parents typically let me crash at peoples houses for these things, but I'll have to check it all out with my mom. Other than that, I'm all in.
So bring, what, 200 dollars?
What about that chicago reball field? That would keep prices down.
Hey, have you guys heard of this "Moneyball"?

Sounds good, when is "the evening" for you? I'm guessing the first couple days will just be about getting used to each other, nothing hardcore or anything so its not a huge deal... but maybe we start a little later than we usually would, say sometime between noon and 3?
I did note that paint at Chicagoland is a tad expensive, and I tend not to shoot much, is anyone interested in splitting a case in order to save a few bucks?
I'm still waiting on a few things for the jerseys. Need the logo from that pro-shop, and if anyone else has any other sponsors I'll need those too. Please don't forget to bring a check made out to Ally Katch to practice. Each check should be in the amount of $75 (to account for shipping). Cash works too.
I have jerseys for the following:
Rene Padilla
Jon Fuhrman
Jeremy Knowles
Rick Kain
David Kain
Ally Katch
Working on Devon and AJ's, both should be up tomorrow. If I'm missing any, please let me know. It also looks like only 6 of those are playing for sure, we could use 2 more "for sure" players, so if anyone knows anyone, reel 'em in.
Are we still in for some Qdoba goodness or is there a pizza place nearby we can all toss in a few dollars for dinner?

Evening for me should be after 4:30 by then. I'm an IT Support Technician for a warehouse so I'm bound to thier hours. But by then we should be slowing down from the christmas season.
We're still doing Qdoba
I'll check with X.O. Industries again and see if they would like to sponsor us.
I'll also check with Take Aim. I know Jim the owner so we should be able to get team practice prices whenever we go in. It's like $50 a case and $10 field fee.
we also have The Badlandz once they open up.
If we still want to do Chicagoland paintball I'll check with the owner, but most likely it will be a membership type dealio where we buy membership and get reduced prices.

Sounds great, just let me know on those sponsorships ASAP, can't get the jerseys printed till I know who's got our back.
As far as sizing goes, Animal will make jerseys up to 7XL and as small as 2XS. Click here for their sizing chart (http://www.animalpaintball.com/SizingChartsB.html). CSG will make jerseys up to 4XL and their size chart is located here (http://customsportsgear.com/SIZE-CHARTS.cfm).
Speaking of which, I have heard NOTHING from CSG (emailed them several times) about their new pricing/minimum order schedule, and we may actually be able to get the jerseys considerably cheaper from Animal anyway -- an order of 10 Totally Custom jerseys will cost $57.85 per person (not including shipping), and that's WITHOUT our jersey sponsorship... ends up being about $50 a pop. If we can agree to go with Animal, checks need only be in that amount (then I'll need the $100 check from Qdoba as well).
Let me know on all that and remember, EPS files are preferred for the logos.

Ally, you got my name misspelled too. Its Jeremy Bowles. Second, I'll try and bring you a copy of the stores logo at practice. (I know you could use it before then, however I can't get it on an EPS file, since I don't have a clue how to do anything w/ computers) Next, the owner of the shop would like a Jersey too, Size M her name is Jenny Dawson. I was also thinking about your design, I like it, but just a thought, since I said earlier about having a bit blue in it, Maybe we could do a black/blue with a kinda Small Silverish/gray and black checker board pattern in the back ground.???? And the Angel Wings in Black outlined with the Silverish/gray. Just a thought!

Ill paypal you for the jerseys for Me, Corey Schwanz, Rick Kane and Dave Kain(Rick and Dave dont want numbers)
paintchick79
12-14-2006, 01:38 PM
Jon: I'd rather not do paypal for this simply due to the size of the check I'll have to write at the end. I've only got about $500 in my bank account and the minimum balance is $100 (Yeah... I'm rather poor...), and that's a rather sizable paypal fee you're talking about. We can easily wait on ordering the jerseys up until early April if necessary, so there's really no rush. I'd just like to IDEALLY order them so we have them and it's one less thing we have to do.
I need numbers and/or usernames/some kind of title from the following people:
AJ - number
Jenny Dawson - title and number (I put SPONSOR for the title, but if she'd like something else or nothing, let me know)
Devin - number
Nick - number
Proofs - LET ME KNOW IF YOU DON'T LIKE SOMETHING, EVERYTHING CAN BE CHANGED!
All proofs can be viewed here (http://s35.photobucket.com/albums/d180/paintchick79/). I'd post them individually, but that's a lot of copying and it doesn't even show the images anyway.
Sorry about the wait, I only get to work on these when I have a free study hall.
Also, let me know if you like WHITE or GRAY sponsor logos better. As far as adding a background or 4th color... I really think it will be too much. After we put in the logos from our sponsors, there'll be plenty to look at, and a funky background or another color would just be too crazy.

Merry Christmas everyone. NOW its time for presents. I've been working out a deal with Jenny at the shop, for a paint deal, and since we're getting her a Jersey too (My doing) she is hooking us up with our choice of either a PMI Evil paint deal, or an Archon Paint deal. I just need to know which paint you guys would perfer, Evil or Proball Platinum. Not everything has been finialized, but if Take-Aim field lets us bring our own paint, then I can hook us up with alot of paint for practice at a VERY Cheep cost.
Merry Christmas.
Wolfboy
12-25-2006, 08:31 PM
Take Aim is very adament about useing their paint unless its a white fill so if the deal is for a white fill paint then we should be good but I dont know how easy it is to get a hold of white fill
TheDragonJedi
12-25-2006, 09:19 PM
easy to get white fill. and If we bring our own paint I think it's like $20-$25. No word yet if we will get the team rate but like I said I'm sure we could. I'm down for Evil though I never tried it on my current setup. But I also know we would not be able to use evil paint during practice unless it's badlandz during the outdoor season.
Also we should go ahead and pay for our own jerseys, when qdoba give us thier contribution we could use it towards entry.
We'll also order nicks jersey afteward unless I see him before or the day of practice.
twelvevoltoutlet
12-26-2006, 11:03 AM
Evil is amazing paint. I'm not saying that because of my relationship with evil, but before that went down I loved their paint.
My boss at outdoor adventures was always a big fan of evil, so whenever he could he'd order a couple trial cases from evil and let us use it for team practice. Never broke a ball, never bounced, and every ball was perfect. Keep in mind this was being shot through a piranha, evil omen, 2k2 angel, and an ion, nobody had troubles. A case actually sat under my bed until this season (from last year) and I shot it in october, when it was pretty cold out. It worked beautifully.
Get evil.

I vote Evil, having had an Archon sponsorship awhile back... the paint was sufficient for practice, but if we can get Evil at the same price... yeah. Evil > Archon.
I don't know if we will be able to order Nick's jersey separately or not. I can ask, but remember that we can also easily wait to order the jerseys until April-ish.
Edit: Just read the comment about paying for our own jerseys. In that case, lets make each check a round $60. This covers your jersey and your portion of the shipping.

Sounds great, Guys, this may end up being a semi-family trip, but my father and brother will be exploring the sights and sounds of chicago while we're shooting people. Ally, I'll get back to you on whether or not I need a ride back, but this is a for sure thing for me.

twelvevoltoutlet - i see you have a Ego listed in your sig, is that what you will be shooting in Chicago? I think the plan was originally for everyone to shoot Angels for Chitown PSP.

The People have spoken! I'll try to work out the evil deal then. As far as white filled paint, I don't think evil has any, but though Archon I can get us White filled Inked paint. I just personnally think the fill on that is pretty weak, and runny. Just let me know though guys...

This may be an AOG team but not everyone on AOG still owns or shoots an Angel. Unless we get a WDP sponsorship, I see no reason why he shouldn't be allowed to use his Ego.

yea, I figured since we didn't have a WDP sponsorship it would be fine.
At least its a euro gun.

For those that are planning on staying the night at our place, I wanted to lay down some ground rules so there are no questions later on. My place is a small ranch house. Probably only have room for 3 people. We have no extra beds, only 2 sleeping bags. If you have something bring it.
1) Bring your own amenities. Food, Toothbrush, bath towels, etc. etc.
2) Due to some issues the second house is unavailable for the rest of the year.
3) We don't party late. In fact we hardly party. but this doesn't mean we can't have a few drinks. My wife usually works weekends and sometime has to be up at 3 am. I don't know what her schedule is like yet for that week. But in any case we cannot be loud.
4) we have a dog, he isn't very people friendly until after he's tired of barking which could be a long time. He shed's alot too. If you are allergic, be advised you probably don't want to spend the night.
5) I don't know anyone personally yet to determine if I could actually trust you. Don't be offended, as long as you do nothing wrong in my house and respect where you're at we're cool.
I've got xbox360 and PS2 for inhouse entertainment. There is a Denny, theater, hospital, hotel and bowling alley just down the street from me.
Take Aim is 30-45 mins from me. ChicagoLand is 45-1hr depending on traffic.
I need to hear from everyone that is staying at my place so I can determine who I might have room for.

I will not be spending the night at your place, my dad decided that he's going to come down with me and he's getting a hotel, I'll be meeting up with you guys at Take Aim on sunday.
I need to know FOR SURE that we'll be at Take Aim, because that affects hotel reservations.
Other than that, I'm all set to go.

**Nevermind - We have a place to stay**
Jon - I have paypal but I'd rather not use it for this, as it will just complicate things. Depending on how this all gets paid for, I will probably be depositing all of your checks into my account then making one big check out to Animal OR making a big check out to my mother, who will then pay via credit card.

OK guys, our First practice is THIS weekend, I plan to stay at your place to Rene, I'm totally cool with whatever you have available, I think I have a sleeping bag, if not I'll bring my own blankets and stuff. Hey I can sleep anywhere, I once slept on a Rock slab roof of a house in India with 130' heat. I plan to bring some Paintball DVD's if that ok. I've got PUSH, SUNDAY DRIVER'S, and LIFE ANGELS & DEMONS. I've also got Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball for xbox, Both the first one and the Maxed.
Okay guys, I need to know about paint. Do you guys want me to bring some Inked white filled paint, or not? I also recommend everyone bring a pen and notebook to discuss some team plans.
I plan to head up there this Friday afternoon, and be there later in the evening. If thats a problem, Rene let me know. Other then that, lets plan to meet up at Rene's house Saturday morning before going to TakeAim, unless you still have to work that morning?

I won't be able to be there saturday morning, but I'll be leaving saturday night. If we get in early enough, I'll drop in to Rene's house, and meet everyone. If not, I'll just meet everyone in the morning.

PSP has there 07 schedule up on their website. www.pspevents.com looks like the Chicago leg will be held on June 20th-24th at the same place its been for the last two years or so.

March 9th-11th
April 13th-15th
May 11th-13th
and Finally June 8th-10th pending tournament
Also they (PSP) have the Mid-Alantic tounament in March I think or maybe it was May Place is still to be determed, but you guys interested in playing in that one too, or how about World Cup at the end of the season?

Wait, show up at your place? Are you looking for a picture for this site, or PSP ID's? Because I'm pretty sure I won't get in until late, and we're about an hour away from where you are (5 minutes from the field)
My dad will be bringing a DSLR with a 70-300mm lens, from his brother.
