Well, after i am done upping my '05 ego i plan on selling it because i want an a1. I have a few questions. I know for the maintenece you just have to put a couple of drops of oil in the asa and dry fire it through, but wouldn't the oil not reach the ram? ALso, can i use KC's trouble free oil. Does the cp regulator mount fit? I keep on hearing all of these people getting horrible efficiency, so i was wondering, with optimal settings, how many hopper and pods can i get off of a 45/45? How can i tell what my lpr and hpr pressures are at when there are no guages on the gun? Will there be a new a1, because i don't want to buy an a1 and then have another come out soon. I heard that angels weren't the best on paint, so i was wondering if the a1 can handle paint such as chronic pro and hellfire? Can i remove my lpr shims right away? Even though the lpr is in the back of the gun, can i get to the shims by unscrewing that screw in the front? Last but not least, where can i get the cheapest a1?

About the paint thing you mentioned that is not true. The A1 is the best marker for paint. it is able to shoot even the most brittle paint. and about efficiency, its not the best, i use a 45/45 and its fine, as long as you dont mind filling up every few games.

my fly hasnt had any problems w/ paint and i kno the A1 definitely doesnt, everyone has been saying how amazed they are at the brittle and old paint it can handle. Off a 68/45 tank it can I have heard it gets like 1300-1400 shots so 45/45 expect like 900-1000 i guess, for the new A1 the Joy and Rage versions are coming out really soon but as of now I have heard there are no plans to make an A1 fly. A1's are mostly selling for the same price everywhere but I would by it from www.fixmyangel.com because you get the MT limited lifetime warranty if you purchase from Bob. And there is no CP reg adapter for the A1 yet. For oil you should use the Love Juice supplied with the gun nothing else.

*You're right, the oil will go everywhere the air goes. Plain and simple. What little oil gets to the ram though won't effect anything.
*I wouldn't use anything but Love Juice for oil.
*I would use the stock regulator. It does its job really well.
*Efficiency on the Angel 1 is a bit less than with older Angels. The tradeoff is always efficiency -vs- proficiency. The Angel 1 uses more air volume to fire a ball with less air pressure. This means more fragile paint can be used like hellfire without breaks. You should get somewhere around 1000-1200 shots per 68/4500. Every gun is different though. You'll have to fiddle with yours to see what it'll do.
*LPR pressure is measured with an Angel LPR Pressure gauge at the back of the gun. Take off the back plate to see the LPR cap.
*HPR or Exhaust Pressure is measured with an Angel Exhaust Pressure gauge at the front of the gun. You'll immediately see the Exhaust valve cap there. Take both caps off and thread your gauges in.
*The only "New" A1s this year will be the Rage and Joy guns. I personally wouldn't be afraid of picking up a current build A1. Any problems with the first few runs have been fixed completely. Mine works flawlessly even though there are a few parts that they've changed slightly since it was produced.
*The LPR shims are accessable from the back of the gun not the front. Only add or remove them if you are measuring the pressure with the pressure guages! Sounded like you were going to just start removing them.....maybe you are just bored or something......
*Cheapest?! That's like asking where can you get screwed the most! Go to an MT like fixmyangel.com and they'll take care of you after the sale instead of just sell you a gun cheap! Besides, I've been to a good number of sites and nobody is making super deals on A1s yet.

No there are not any hoses other than the macro hose from the asa to the inline.

Well, after i am done upping my '05 ego i plan on selling it because i want an a1.

Why spend the money upgrading only to sell it right away? Sell it now take the money from the sale plus whatever you were going to spend on upgrades and buy an A1.

^^^because, i only want one other uppgrade for it and it is only $60, and that upgrade will help me decide if i want to sell it or not. If you want to know what the upgrade is, it is a Ti rammer. So my gun will have ALOT less kick.

in what ways? just wondering coz the ego is fast, and lighter than the A1 and accurate too, just curious if you have shot both and what the advantages/ disadvantages are because in december im either buying an A1 or an 07 ego not sure yet

No...don't go to the dark side! Haha, just kidding. Anyways, I've read that the 07 ego is just an 06 with new milling. WOO HOO. Is P.E. trying to do what Smart Parts did with the shocker (same design from 03-06). I'll be able to tell you how an EGO shoots because my friend won one at a tourney and sold it to me half price so I'll let you know. Anyways that's just my thoughts.

lol just wanna see some other options, and I'll still be an "angel owner" because I'm not selling my A4 fly, I'll just switch between the two, and that is IF i dont choose the A1, thats cool though u got one for half the price, damn u!!

Having only shot one Ego, and my A1 I'd definitely go with the A1.

The Ego that I shot was light and fast, but it was also loud and had a lot of kick. It was on ramping and the first time it hit ramping, the barrel rise was pretty bad.

The A1 is light and fast, average volume (louder than a DM, quieter than an Ego), and has noticeably less kick than the Ego I shot.

My $.02

how would you go about adjusting the pressure. The field i go to doesn't have that guage.By any chance does anyone have any good screw settings to go along with the joy/rage settings (i.e how many turns from flush on each screw specifically)

Sorry, each gun is a bit different. 5 turns in on the velocity screw on my gun is NOT going to be the same as yours. It also depends on the air pressure going into the gun from your tank.

Same thing with shims. My gun has 1 shim on the LPR. Others have 3-5.

My advice is to buy the gauges.....
