Hello, sorry if this has been discussed already but does anyone know if Max is using the Joy A-1 at San Diego? If so. anyone have pictures?

If you were watching the paintballlive.tv live feed at around 9:10 PST Jill went down on the field after Joy took down Arsenal and he briefly showed off the JD1.

Its hard to see any milling details from the quality of the feed, but it looks pretty much what you would think it'd look like. Yellow/Black fade with a Leopard tattoo.

That's Max's trademark of a gun he likes. He puts black cloth stick tape on the ASA. Cool barrel he is sporting. It's different than the one he had at the Beantown 7.

I think I see some milling on the sides but it might just be the lighting. I'm sure Ken or Bob will give us the skinny soon.

According to Owen out in S.D. Max was using the proto-type joy a1. It is basically the same as far as software and mechanics, it is just different milling and a black to yellow fade (no tatoo). So it is basically just different cosmetics. Retail should be around $1299 and it will come with some Joy goodies including a Joy Stick! So all in all seems pretty cool, and you basically pay for an a1 and get the milling, fade, and a Joy stick for $50 more.
Owen also said, they should hopefully be hitting stores in the next couple of weeks. :)

Dunno bout you, but I like the milling of the original A1 better. Not too fond of having tiger, leopard, zebra, or whatever animal on my gun either.

Well, I wouldn't go as far as calling it ugly, but I like the regular milling better, just by looking at the pics... you know how (especially Angel) markers tend to look much better in person...

ya WDP markers definitely have the absolute worst resale of any high end guns, DMs/egos have much better resale

They actually arent that bad when compared to other guns, an 05 DM is about 500 bucks, an 05 ego is about 700 bucks, and a G7 fly is still around 600-700 bucks.

Of all the high ends I would say shockers, and karnivors probably are some of the best for depreciation.

the reason the DM5 is priced at 600-700 usually is because of the DMC which came out in late 2005 and still costs 900 new, a DM4 costs like 400-500 new (if you can find it) and it is an 04' marker. i would say Dye and Bob Long definatly have the best resale for they're guns. ego's re-sale is gonna start to suck in about 3 years the way planet is allways coming out with new versions not to mention the 07' version coming out in Nov. and as for cockers no one buys them anymore... they just kinda died.

Trust me it ain't dead it's very much alive and kickin. Just played with it today actually since I am having an eye problem on my RASTA g7fly :P and there was tons of autocockers there @ the local field. I guess it just depends where you live for whats popular.

EDIT: on that note i just thought i would add that I sold a used DM6 yesterday that looked BRAND NEW except for 1 teeny tiny almost-invisible scratch on the bottom of the reg for 399$ and it had been up there for that price for more than 3 weeks.

and to get back on topic about the joy: i don't think they can make it any freaking smaller or make the body thinner in any places....if they did it would be fragile like a timmy.

Hi there.

Just to give you all some information. The Joy A1 will not have a fade. The one Maximus used in San Diego was just a prototype. The milling however is the one we will have on our guns. The reason we "rounded" the back end is beacuse the way we shoot. The top banner of this site illustrate it very good :)
