I shot some paint through my gun and had velocity issues. I also at that time had problems with my detent. It would double feed alot. I bought a new detent (a CP detent) and paint still rolls out of the breech about 1/5th of the time when I drop paint through the neck. It works better than before but not good at all really. This gun is really pissing me off. Anyone else have any issues with detents?
What loader do you have ?

You should look into getting another detent installed

Paint rolls out the breech when you drop it in the feedneck? Is it even hitting the detent? It sounds like the detent might not be screwed in all the way.

No, it is screwed it all the way. The package even says Custom Products IR3 detent. It doesnt work. I will be getting the stock one that came with the gun in the mail. the person had swapped the part out to make it red instead of the black stock one for accent and I hope that one works. I dont understand why the aftermarket CP one didnt work though, doesnt make any sense. I have a Halo B.

Dual detents will help with your double feed problem when your Halo is on your marker, as for the paint rolling past when you drop it in the feed neck, id say the detents you have are just crap. I use Cobra Detents, but to my knowledge those are off the market now, unless someone has some horded away. Sine the Halo pushes the balls into the chamber pretty hard double feeds happen a lot as well as chopping due to rollback. I have a quick fix for the chops if you want you can send me a PM otherwise there are bolts out there designed to help with this rollback problem

Yea.... I tried a Halo on my Ir3... Lets just say if your going to use it... Shoot that whole hopper and keep the gun rolling... Because it will go past your detent... Almost every time. Also for bolts.... Stay away from the Jam Bolt.... Those cause more problems than they solve. Grab an A4 soft face and if you are still having roll back problems check your rams position. Let me know how that stock detent works.

I have a New Designz Delrin bolt. As long as I am shooting everything is fine. I have shot about 150 balls through the gun so far and I havent chopped anything which is great but the double feeding is pissing me off. If the stock detent doesnt work I guess I will just have to shoot as much paint as I can all the time.... hmmm... that could be fun.... hehe
I use a halo b on mine with no problems but some angels cant handel halos without having an extra detent installed.
