I think this is a prime example of passion...we all need to learn how to best use it. Did y'all hear that the people (locals) leaving Irac were turned back by us? And when they were going back home, their own army was firing on them...talk about "caught in the middle"!!

I have mixed emotions about our concerns in the Middle East. Don't get me wrong people, I support out troops and only wish them the best, but the reasoning behind them being there is a little cloudy too me.

Dude, chill. The islamic people as a whole are not bad. The islamic extremist are who we are after. There are extremist to every religion(a.k.a. Nazis, KKK) Don't lose sight of that. Nazis and KKK members are Christian, but does that mean we should "Take our M16's and go shoot every Christian person that we see and then cut there bodies up and drop them over mostly Christian nations"???? NO!

Were there ever any Jewish extremists?
Yea the Nazis. I agree with cameron.

What I am proud to see is that not one single paintballer on this site is against the war (according to the poll). Or, some reading this sight are just too chicken*#it to speak out. Some may not understand the motives or maybe they're unsure, but they stand up and wave the flag.

Are you discombobulated or what? You obviously are very young in age and have no idea what you are talking about. YOU probably have no idea how to operate an M16A1. I'm not trying to flame you but man its kind of Ironic that you sound like Saddam and Hitler themselves. We are not fighting a war against the Islamic and or the Muslim people, we are fighting against two men that need to be taken out of power so we can avoid future terrorist acts like what happened on 9/11. just because they happen to be from nations that majorly support the islamic and muslim belief does not mean everyone from that religion is the enemy. Statements like what you have posted are what we don't need. I apologize to all who read your post that come from the Islamic or Muslim belief. Remember being an american is all about many different races, religions, and people living in a country where we can all support each other. :sshh:

Cody.....
Everyone is entitled to their opinions, however un popular they might be. However racist remarks, and attacks will not be tolerated here. If you can't make your comments about your feelings intelligent then please don't make them. We here at AOG have prided ourselves on being flame free, and trying to keep controversy to an extreme minimum. I sincerely hope that you will educate yourself, and adjust your comments, and adress them in an adult manner.
Thank you

guys, as many of you know I am a disabled vet, and my father is retired military as well........well he just got re-hired with Brown & Root, and they are sending him to Kuwait. He's going to be one of the guys that does all the building/maintenance on places like Camp Stronghold etc........we've got a couple of guys who are Active Duty here on the boards, and now add my dad to the list of people who are trying to make things better in a bad situation. Please add him to your thoughts to come home safely.
Thanks guys

Emmit, is he in the army corps of engineers?
Emmit
04-05-2003, 07:19 PM
Jed........no my Dad is a retired Seabee, he's working for Brown & Root, they are civilian contracted company that builds all those little bases (ie Camp Stronghold) overseas
Jedrith
04-05-2003, 07:23 PM
Aren't the seebees the fighting engineers? Whatever, he's retired. When was the last time you talked with him?
Emmit
04-05-2003, 09:08 PM
Talked with him recently....he hasn't left yet, I just found out last night that he got re-hired with Brown & Root, so he's leaving soon. He has to come through Houston before they send him over there, so hopefully I'll get to see him before he leaves. Haven't seen him since Christmas.
And yes Seabees are also ground troops, John Wayne did a movie called "The Fighting Seabees". The Seabees build a lot of stuff that later gets used by regular forces. They are for all intents and purposes Construction workers who know how to fire M-16's etc, however since my dad is retired he shouldn't be involved or anywhere near any fighting, but we all know that sometimes things go wrong, and Kuwait is a really volatile place right now.

Just wondering what you fellas thought...
I think that the easiest part of the war is now over. I know that sounds strange, but now that our troops are done runnin and gunnin, they're gonna have to park their asses and try to maintain order while getting sniped at from all angles.
Also, off the battlefield, the US is going to have to make Iraq a "free" state while the rest of the world sits around and criticizes!
I just hope that all the people who supprt the war because they like to see things explode are ready to maintain the all out support for this war while it turns from tactics into politics. No matter how good the situation looks militarily, we gotta remember that this war aint over till we've proven to the world that we're in there to get rid of Saddam, hook up some good deals on oil (face the facts guys) , and let the Iraqis govern themselves.
By the way anybody wanna sell me an IR3 for cheap???
