I am new to Angels. I took it out of the box and turned it on. The only thing that happens is the backlight comes on, it flashes MEM 6 and then the backlight goes off. Then I see a battery an outline of a battery and the above that there is 3 outlines of small boxes. I then tried to plug the marker into the car charger but nothing happens. It appears that the battery has no charge but it won't take on either.

Please help!!!!
Thanks

Did you leave the gun turned on? Was the car on?

Yes the gun was on, the car was on and I also picked up on of those radio shack boxes that let you plug the car adapter into it so you can cahge the gun off a wall outlet at home.

None of these have worked. I read and followed teh cahrging directions in the manual but nothing seems to be happening. Didn't know if there was something else I should be doing/trying.

open the grip and check to make sure all the wires are plugged into the board snugly.

You might want to open the charger case and see if one of the wires came loose. When i purchased my IR3 n December, i tried to charge it and it wouldn't. I Ttried another charger off a friends charger and that worked. Very frustrating but it was a simple fix.

Volt meter....$10 at wallyworld. Check to see if you have output on the end that you plug into your marker. It's also a good tool to keep in your Angel Care Kit (tackle box, $8 at wallyworld)

Hold it. You used a radio shack wall converter. You should be careful with that. You can fry your board. With the volt meter you need to check whats coming out of your wall converter and that is doesnt exceed that of the angel requirements. There is a reason why the adapters cost that much more from cobra and etc, because they are very well regulated. WDP will not warrant your marker if they know you are charging it with an approved source. Second thing with charging confirm you switch is in the correct position for charging.

I used a volt meter and the car charger is putting out about 14 volts. Is this about right?

Hey guys thanks for all your help but I got it charging. I was An Angel Newbie error. I didn't plug the charger in far enough. It was hard to get in all the way like the hole on the grip isn't lined up exactly with the hole on the board and I did n't want to force it and break something.

Now I know.

Thanks for all your help
