I have a G7 fly and wish to use a Tadao board in it. I would like to do away with the stock rechargable and just use a 9v in place of it. Can this be done, do i have to go along the lines of an 06 Speed Tadao board.
Can someone help ?

Thanks, Jim

Yes, but you will need a Speed frame because the LED array is different.

I hate to bring up old threads, but the Problem isn't the LED Array. Considering there isn't an Array on Tadao boards anyway, its just one Multicolored LED. And the board doesn't even use the LED panel on the back of the frame. The LED is just close enough that you can see the color through it. The biggest problem is that the screwhole placement is just a little different from the flagship models to the speeds. But I'm sure that if you're clever enough you could find a way to mount the speed board in the g7 frame.

Devs, to be clear, a speed board will run the G7 engine as if it were a speed without error or are there design differences btwn the models which present difficulties? (of interest: my buddy just put a dm6 frame on his arsenal and used the dye board. Works except for some timing issues apparently.)

The hardest part is fitting the speed board into the G7 frame. They are different sizes, the Speed board is a little longer to make room for the 9V. Not sure if there were any components on the portion that would need to be trimmed off. If it's just blank board, it could be done.
As far as the software on the boards, the 06 Speed, G7 Fly, and G7 run the same pneumatics, with the exception of a Master Tech valve here and there.
The settings might come stock a different way, but by adjusting the dwell, you will be fine.
The same goes for any other board. So long as the solenoid voltage matches up, you only have to set the dwell and the eye system to match the normal settings for the marker. All thats left then is the trigger, which is different on every marker.

Well i just bought the angry tadao board for my G7. It does away with the rechardable stock battery, and uses a regular 9V. I love it and it rips!!!!
